Description

A smartphone released in the third quarter of 2024, featuring a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 2856 px and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The device is IP68-certified for water and dust resistance, with the screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. High-quality audio is provided by stereo speakers with active noise cancellation. Under the hood, it is powered by the proprietary Google Tensor G4 processor running Android 14, available in 16/128 GB, 16/256 GB, or 16/512 GB configurations. The 4700 mAh battery supports 45 W fast charging and wireless charging, though the power adapter is sold separately. The professional camera system includes a 50 MP main sensor with EIS+OIS, a 48 MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field of view, and a 48 MP telephoto lens with optical zoom. On the front, there is a 42 MP portrait camera. It supports video recording up to 8K at 30 fps. The manufacturer promises 7 years of technical support and regular updates with all the latest features. As part of the Pixel 9 series, it is among the first to fully leverage Google AI, which allows users to add people to photos after they are taken or sharpen blurry images. It is available in Porcelain, Rose Quartz, Hazel, and Obsidian.

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Google Pixel 9 Pro supports inductive charging. Although the phone supports inductive charging, a wireless charger is usually not found in the box with the device. If you don't have an inductive charger, you need to get one in order to use this type of charging. It is also possible to charge the phone using a traditional charger up to 45 W.
Unfortunately, Google Pixel 9 Pro has been designed without a jack socket. The lack of a jack socket means you will need to use Bluetooth headphones. Alternatively, you can purchase a specialised adapter to connect wired headphones to the device. Our advanced search will allow you to check which phone models have a jack socket.

After using this smartphone for some time (1 month), I can recommend it with full confidence; it takes beautiful photos, the battery lasts all day with normal use, and on a workday, I have +/- 70% battery left at the end of the day. It is easy to use, the screen is very good, it displays various colors very nicely, etc. Now about the processor: the Tensor G4 might not be the most powerful processor, especially at this price, but it works excellently. As someone who plays games on a smartphone very rarely, I can say that it is sufficient; it does not overheat and does not experience performance delays in more demanding games. 45W charging might not be the fastest, but it is sufficient considering that I only charge it at night. I have not yet tested Google's new AI, Gemini, or other AI-related functions, so I will not comment on them. I can sincerely recommend it.

The phone is overall very good.
The camera is very good although a bit overrated, compared to the Iphone the capabilities are very similar.
A huge flaw is the lack of Miracast support.
The fingerprint sensor is better than in the pixel 7 (where performance was very poor).
The battery is more than sufficient.
The screen is very beautiful.
Overall a good phone, but not impressive.
Nothing more above the competition, but the lack of Miracast puts it slightly below other flagships.

I bought it at a fairly good promotional price shortly after the premiere, so for the 256 GB version, by trading in a 3 year old mid-range smartphone, I saved 1,000. I wanted a high-end experience regarding the camera and system performance, and I was absolutely not disappointed. Although 65 W charging spoiled me, I do not notice this absence when I charge at night even on an inductive charger, which I have by my bed and desk. The system may have had 2 strange freezes, but over a year that is very little. I launched GTA out of curiosity and it performed well here too. The size is also great and is the acceptable maximum for me. This device simply performs well in daily tasks. It seems to me that the lack of newer memory standards may simply be due to the refined technology of the ones currently used. I do not know if I will actually receive 7 years of updates, however, the amount of alternative software is impressive and in few smartphones can you have such a choice (lineageOS, GrapheneOS, CalyxOS), so this support period can probably be extended somewhat.

I have been using it for over a year on GrapheneOS. The photos are excellent, without enhancements, and look fantastic on a TV, PC, or when printed. Moving videos with a gimbal are great, but handheld movement is poor. It heats up slightly with more demanding applications, but it has never frozen. The battery lasts the whole day with quite intensive use. It charges quickly with a good cable. The display automatically brightens beyond the standard scale in the sun, making everything clearly visible even on a beach in full sunlight. The call quality is very good. Due to the software I do not use AI. The size is perfect for me. One handed operation is not a problem. Importantly, it does not slip out of the hand even without a case. The protruding cameras (a matter of taste) remain scratch free so far.

Briefly: I switched from the iPhone 16 pro for one reason: the camera. The Pixel does not distort colors towards yellow as the iPhone does.
