I have owned the phone since it was new, and it has made a good impression on me from the beginning. The Full HD screen, fingerprint reader, backlit navigation buttons, and glass casing look stylish and functional to this day. The headphones included with the phone sounded excellent, but they broke quickly (after about a month).
The battery lasts for a very short time, perhaps two hours of use - it is advisable to be prepared with a charger. The device overheats during operation; it could burn someone who is not careful. The photo quality is good, as it is a budget model from 2017. The slightly outdated Android 6.0 does not interfere (yet) with daily use, and HTC, as with many other products, allows the bootloader to be unlocked and provides the source code for its overlay, so restoring the system after a failure (accidental deletion of system files) was not a major challenge.
The equipment still works as a quite good backup today; it served me for several months in 2025 after a newer model broke and performed excellently; with a bit of effort, all modern applications can be installed.
