FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Redmi 10C doesn’t have the option for inductive charging. It is only possible to charge using a traditional charger. Phones with inductive charging can be found using our advanced search.
Indeed, Redmi 10C supports the use of wired headphones through a jack socket. The user is therefore not limited to using only Bluetooth headphones.

The phone software is unrefined: there is no possibility to assign custom sounds, it does not remember file display settings (sort by name), it mixes contact and call settings in the main menu, and there is a problem with personalizing contact settings on the phone. The phone's MIUI is unrefined. Compared to the Redmi Note 7 that I used for two years (the optics are weaker than in the Note 7), it performs poorly. This is my experience after two weeks of use. I do not recommend it; a low price is not everything, and it is better to consider choosing a different device.

As for a budget smartphone - it is genuinely great, the performance jump compared to Redmi 6 is definitely noticeable. Unfortunately, the price is not quite budget - it is closer to a mid-range device.

A serious disadvantage of the processor in this smartphone (namely Snapdragon) is the lack of a digital compass - the Redmi 6 had this compass and its absence is very noticeable, for example, during navigation we do not know which direction we are facing relative to the terrain. Redmi 10c has a nice radio, but we have no influence on whether it will play through the headphones or the speaker - to play through headphones you have to put in a lot of effort - it only works after several attempts.

4/128 GB version - at the beginning we had the option to add 2GB of RAM, after the update from late 2023 we gained 3GB, meaning we have 4 + 3 GB RAM. Internal memory does not decrease excessively fast when using an additional memory card from 128 GB upwards - it is easy to manage - completely different from Redmi 6, which had 32 GB of internal memory.

The battery can last even more than 1 day after using power saving, but in normal mode it will last less. The battery drains very quickly when the smartphone is used as a mobile hotspot - then it is easy to drain the battery to 0 in a short time (often even under 10 hours, my record is just over 5 hours).

OTG works flawlessly and here it handles an external 1 TB HDD in NTFS system very well, unfortunately it can no longer handle an external 4 TB HDD in exFAT system - it does not load it. It handles mice great (making it more convenient to do presentations in PowerPoint, for example), but after connecting an additional backlit mechanical keyboard, e.g., ATAX Pro RGB, the OTG suddenly fails. When using a USB HUB, it successfully handles several flash drives, memory card readers, and even a large 1TB drive and several flash drives.

Video and photos - sometimes you manage to take something nice, but most often it is mediocre at best. Quite often the photos turn out worse than what we had in Redmi 6. Photos of presentations/slides, for example at a conference or lecture, will turn out terrible - compared to the competition, this is more than noticeable. Taking photos of documents can be difficult - only the focus center you choose will be sharp, in other places, especially at the edges, it will be blurred/out of focus.

Audio recordings are usually good and there are no major complaints about them (Voice recorder). It also works well with external microphones.

Rendering screen recordings/videos longer than an hour or two using external programs such as YouCut Video Editor or Capcut can take a very long time (significantly over 1 hour) and during this, the smartphone gets very hot.

If there were a MediaTek here instead of Snapdragon, like in Redmi 6, it could be almost perfect. If someone is focused on communication, social media, and work rather than constant gaming and is looking for something budget-friendly, I think I could recommend it. Especially if it could be found around 500 zł. At 800-900 zł, it will no longer be particularly cost-effective.

I confirm that the smartphone's image editor does not have a function to reduce image resolution (only crop) or its compression, so to send an MMS you have to download some app from the Google store that will do it first. The camera does not have the option to change the resolution from over 4k to another. There are 3 photo compression options in the camera app, where only the lowest one allows you to go below 1mb. As I mentioned, basically the basic Xiaomi applications (file manager, video, music, gallery, themes, wallpapers, calendar, etc.) should be deleted and you have to look for replacements. Unless someone wants to be harassed every now and then with pop-up windows and advertisements when the internet is on. Even without it, some applications need to be turned off in the settings because they are annoying (or, as in my case, they disorient the elderly person who uses it). The software is unpolished, options are often hidden, so I am not surprised that some people get nervous and cannot find them when they had them at hand with other manufacturers. Like, for example, the sound setting. In Samsung, I pull down the bar from the top, hold the sound icon and I can set literally everything. Here you have to go into settings. I still don't know how to turn on screen looping (i.e. so that swiping your finger to the side means moving from the last to the main screen) and I don't know how to turn off the right lock screen, i.e. so that the right screen doesn't appear when you swipe your finger to the right on the lock screen (luckily I already uninstalled this advertisement for additional themes and wallpapers that were on it). Double tapping the screen only wakes the screen (to the lock screen and back). It is not possible (as in LG) to put it to sleep with a double tap. The screen does not always respond to taps, i.e. sometimes it does not catch those delicate ones. The smartphone does not have floating app windows, i.e. like in Windows where you can resize them and place them anywhere on the screen. Horror of horrors, they even cut the Android split-screen function into 2 windows!
If I understand correctly – I'm asking out of curiosity, seriously – is there no way to hold the photo with your finger in the gallery and select the "send" option? (jf)

I have had this phone for a short time. I am not a demanding user, so I have no complaints regarding its operating speed. It is sufficient for me. The photos are of average quality. The speaker is a complete failure (literally zero mid-to-high tones). The Redmi interface is weak. Some applications must be uninstalled because they are annoying; for example, they constantly suggest games or new wallpapers and themes. Audio and video applications also need to be replaced-overloaded, difficult to read, and containing advertisements. The biggest flaw of this phone (so far) is the shape of its frames, which encourages drops - it is difficult to pick up when it is lying on its back and it slips from the fingers. It slips out of the hand very easily. Therefore, a case must be purchased because there is none in the box. And as is well known, this does not help with heat dissipation. Fortunately, it does not heat up excessively. The charger has quite low power. It also lacks several functions known to me from LG or Samsung, but that is simply the way it is.

Positive opinion

Treblus

A good phone for an affordable price, after 7 months it runs smoothly, the camera is satisfactory, the battery is sufficient, however, the system overlay is a complete failure, among other things due to notification issues, primarily with Messenger: they arrive late or not at all, chat bubbles used to function but now they do not display at all, the lack of an application drawer and the requirement to keep all applications on the home screen is also an ill-conceived idea, I must consider removing this poor-quality software in favor of stock Android.

Negative opinion

Ja

I have never had a worse quality product in my life. The calibrator does not work, the touch screen does not work!!! I would already prefer a Nokia 3410!!! On a scale of 1 to 10, this phone gets a 2!!! Even the battery, which was supposed to have 8000, lasts as if it had 1000. I do not recommend it to anyone!!! Every other phone is 1000% better than this worthless item.

Very slow. Fortunately, I use this phone as a work phone and it is a very difficult experience. Simple tasks take an excessively long time, not to mention strange errors and delays. The camera is mediocre. I sincerely advise against it.

I am terribly disappointed; I thought that by paying 800 for a phone, one could at least expect it to run relatively smoothly. Unfortunately, it runs slowly, and applications also take a long time to open.

The camera is excellent, everything works, the battery lasts for a long time and it does not freeze. For this amount of money, it is very good.
