Our company has more than ten units of the version with 3 GB of RAM. There is a complaint about practically every single unit. Most often, it is spontaneous shutting down when the battery is not discharged, or very, very slow performance. In comparison, several dozen units of Redmi 9 (without Note) with 3 GB RAM perform well, and there are no complaints.

The Redmi Note 9 in the 4/128 version is a good device. Not the best, but it has many features. I have dropped it several times already and, despite the lack of protective glass, the screen did not break. I only have a protective case on the back of the housing.

I have owned the Redmi Note 9 for 2 years now, and my opinion is mixed. On the positive side, there is definitely the large display + decent cameras (for photos, because recording is slightly weaker). The performance itself - it depends.

I received the phone with MIUI 12 and Android 10 installed - and on this software version, the phone worked excellently, no freezes, generally a plus. Problems began the moment the update to MIUI 12.5 arrived. This is where the freezes, numerous errors, and even random reboots to... safe mode began. After several security updates, there was even a dm-verity corruption error, and for another reason (it was impossible to make calls - only emergency calls, tested on 2 cards, they worked in another device), the phone went in for a warranty claim - it was accepted. Currently, the phone runs on MIUI 13 - errors from the previous version have been partially fixed, however, performance has dropped even further, which is why I am thinking about changing the phone (but not to another Xiaomi).

I also tried a custom ROM recently and it turned out rather poorly. Performance increased, but I lost VoLTE, VoWiFi, and the camera photo quality dropped significantly despite trying configurations for GCam. However, after a few days, the system crashed and I returned to MIUI... An unpleasant experience. I do not want to try others as I have heard mixed opinions, and my phone is not a device for experiments - I store a lot of confidential data on it.

I bought the phone at the beginning of December 2020 for the amount of 900 PLN, including a Mi Band 4 /which I have used until now; the battery lasts at least 2 weeks/. Since then, it has experienced a few system freezes, no more than one or two per year. In normal use, the phone does not slow down; I do not have social media applications, and I play games occasionally, usually ones that are not very demanding. The phone still lasts at least 24 hours, but the time is significantly reduced when YouTube is running. For some time now, the Wi-Fi freezing has been very annoying; specifically, it shows as connected but there is no internet access. Disconnecting usually helps, though sometimes restarting the phone is necessary. Regarding advertisements, it is sufficient to read everything carefully at the beginning and configure the device correctly to avoid them. I have configured three such phones, and there would have been advertisements in each one if I had simply pressed "NEXT--> NEXT--> ..." Each of the three is still in use (purchased at a similar time); in one of them, the charging port no longer supports fast charging, but otherwise, it is not an issue. I will also buy my next phone for a maximum of 1000 PLN, and it must include an infrared port. I do not need to look for a remote control for anything at home because I have this device at hand :)

I have been using the phone since 2021. For the first year and a half it worked well, however after the update to the MIUI 12.5 system it slowed down, but not enough to be annoying because I am an undemanding user. But the update to MIUI 13 is a complete failure for this phone. Even light games could freeze to such an extent that a restart of the phone was necessary. Applications took a long time to start and the system itself was not very responsive. The camera application also does not work well and there were situations where after taking a photo the phone became completely unresponsive and a restart was necessary. The downgrade, meaning lowering the system version to an older one, worked wonders. After installing MIUI 12.5.4.0 the difference is huge. The phone is noticeably faster and reacts immediately. The camera application does not work perfectly, various delays occur, but after a very short moment the phone works normally and you can, for example, open the photo you took. Games also became playable on this phone, and everyday applications such as Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram load immediately. Overall, the whole idea of the downgrade is an excellent solution. The phone is regaining its life and working as it should have from the beginning.

I have had the phone for 3 years and it has been working the whole time; it has never been in for repair. One downside is the photos. Xiaomi promised high quality, but they often come out hazy, and after dark, it is impossible to take a nice photo, the camera fails to capture anything. I was also disappointed with Xiaomi Poland because they were unable to tell me where I should look for functions or the manual; they referred me to a Chinese helpline or a forum. They are not obliged to know every model by heart, but they could have provided some links or similar resources.
Gosia, "hazy photos" are sometimes a symptom of a dusty lens after taking it out of a pocket. If that is the case, try wiping it with a cloth, a shirt, etc. I am not saying it will help 100%, but it might. Touching the screen in the place where the focus should be set can also help. There is indeed an issue with manuals for Chinese brands. Remember that you can always ask other users a question in the tab next to this one. Perhaps someone will want to answer. Regards. (jf)

3/64 version. Initially, after the purchase, I was satisfied; it was one of my several Xiaomi phones. After some time, the device started to perform worse and worse, meaning it was impossible to answer the phone; someone would call, and only a black screen was visible. Opening an application required immense patience; the phone would freeze. Besides, it would turn off by itself, obviously at the most inconvenient moment, for example, while paying in a store. Closing background applications was something that made me extremely angry, especially during BLIK payments in the app. I thought it was the fault of MIUI (v.12.5), so I installed PixelExperience, supposedly lighter, but all the features I mentioned unfortunately remained. I am currently in the process of choosing a new phone and I will certainly want to take a break from Xiaomi for some (probably longer) time. I see that some people are satisfied with this model, so perhaps it is a matter of a specific unit, but even if that is the case, something like this should not happen.

I have had this phone for a year and it is very frustrating. I switched to it from a Samsung K ZOOM, which served me for many years, but the battery eventually died. Xiaomi is generally unrefined. I was counting on a good camera. It turns out that the camera is very slow. By the time it turns on, the opportunity to take a photo has already passed. It freezes often and requires a reset. The smartphone itself freezes frequently. Every day it must be turned off and on, and the junk files must be cleaned. Another annoying thing is the inability to change the SMS sound. Even an old NOKIA had more options. Here, there is only a quiet drop sound or vibration. The phone is not very intuitive. Calling is also often a problem. If someone calls while using an application, it is impossible to answer. It seems ridiculous, but these phones are not good for calling and texting. Browsing websites works well. For a few weeks, the battery lasted for 2 days. After a short time, it was already only 1 day. Personally, I would not buy this phone again.

It has been a long time since I owned such a tragic phone (the last one was the Nokia N70). It freezes when launching the camera, and the transition from the camera to the preview of the taken photo takes so long that the Earth probably completes two rotations on its axis in that time; also, taking a photo quickly is a miracle for this phone! SMS messages also take a long time to open, displaying a message that messages are working in the background or to wait for the application to respond. In the applications I use on this model, after cleaning and deleting 90% of the photos and all games, an error message appears stating there is insufficient memory to perform the operation (I insert photos one by one and the application itself reduces the photo size). Opening any application probably only looked beautiful and fast in the advertisement for this device. SMARTPHONE IS DEFINITELY TOO SERIOUS A TERM FOR THIS PHONE !!! I advise against even coming into contact with this model - tragic

Negative opinion

I have owned the phone for 2 years. After the purchase with MIUI 12, I was satisfied. The battery lasted well up to 3 days, on average 2. I became fascinated by the new system and updated to 12.5 and then to 13.0.3. It was the biggest mistake I made. The phone constantly freezes. Background apps do not work (when switching from one to another, the second one is automatically terminated and starts from scratch). I replaced the battery with a new one because it lasted only 1 day on the new system (I thought the battery was worn out) - nothing could be further from the truth, with the new battery - also original - it lasts a maximum of 24 hours or less depending on usage. I am disappointed in how Xiaomi completely ruined its phone with the new system. It is impossible to return to the old system. It requires a data wipe and installing new software, so amateurs will not be able to manage it. Overall, I do not recommend this model after the update.
