FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Inductive charging is available in Xiaomi 12. Although the phone supports inductive charging, a wireless charger is usually not found in the box with the device. If you don't have an inductive charger, you need to get one in order to use this type of charging. If an inductive charger isn’t available, it is still possible to charge the phone using a conventional charger.
Xiaomi 12 is without a jack socket. The lack of a jack socket means you will need to use Bluetooth headphones. Alternatively, you can purchase a specialised adapter to connect wired headphones to the device. Our advanced search will allow you to check which phone models have a jack socket.

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi 12 is not suitable for gaming, except for simple games, as efootball and asphalt 9 are not viable options. The processor overheats within a few minutes while gaming and the performance in games decreases.

The battery is sensational and lasts the entire day. With intensive use on two SIM cards, I reach 100% after 40 minutes of charging (it takes about 2 hours to charge in the car). Sometimes it disconnects during a call after 10-15 seconds, and with several phone numbers there are occasional problems sending SMS messages from SIM1.

Initially, I was satisfied for a moment, but now I know that I will not buy this low-quality product again. The phone itself is well-made, the photos are okay, but the system and its refinement are unacceptable at this price. The first problem that causes me extreme frustration is, as someone wrote before—no internet after switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data. Typically every other day, I can expect that while standing at the checkout and paying with my phone in a store, I will suddenly have to restart the phone and hold up the line. The second flaw is the unfortunate lock screen and a button on the lock screen that leads to a non-existent wallpaper application (there should be a shortcut to the flashlight there). Another one: the screen constantly turning on during a call, which leads to occasionally hanging up or muting the call. The last problem that caused me extreme annoyance is YouTube, which suddenly plays videos zoomed in so that only 1/4 of the video is visible. When buying this device, I was tempted by the size of the phone and a dislike for the ubiquitous Samsung and Apple, of which I had enough. Now, after adventures with this low-quality product, I will gladly return to my old Samsung. Ps. Summer restarts in high temperatures are also true.
Positives are the size and build quality. And the greatest are the battery and fast charging. Here Samsung could learn.
I am longingly waiting for a magic update that will miraculously fix my inconveniences.

Phew, fortunately I did not give in to the negative opinions (I respect every opinion) and bought the Xiaomi 12. The phone is great, the size is very handy. The screen is excellent in terms of brightness and colors, and the curve adds class to it. The speed of operation is top-notch; everything opens at a click. As for the mythical heating of the phone, I do not play games on it, but I was tempted. I do not know if it is a good game for testing, but my son played "NFS no limited" for an hour and no one was burned; the game ran very smoothly for an hour and there was no message about overheating. Battery? With this charging speed, it is no problem for me. What I cared about was photos, a first communion test. After downloading photos to a computer from the family (including Iphone 14pro, Iphone 12 and Samsung 22), the Xiaomi 12 truly performed excellently and I believe many people would not notice a difference compared to the aforementioned flagship models. Colors, detail, lack of noise, wide angle - everything is excellent. Regarding the system, I previously used Redmi Note 7 and I am used to MIUI; nothing irritates me. Personally, I recommend it, adding that the phone currently costs about 2400zł and it does not compare to comments like... "it is a waste of money, it is better to buy this, that, or the other" after which it turns out that the proposed ones are 1-2 thousand PLN more expensive.

A terrible phone, really.

I had a POCO F3, and I figured that the Xiaomi 12 being newer, with better components and a similar battery but a smaller screen, would be great.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
After switching from the POCO F3, the size bothered me; the phone was simply too small for me.
The second issue—the TERRIBLE overheating of the device. Just 10 minutes of browsing FB+Messenger or TikTok was enough for the phone to heat up until it burned my hands, and of course, its performance dropped immediately! The screen refresh rate also automatically changed from 120Hz to 60Hz. This overheating is "normal" for the Snapdragon 8gen1 and it is a tragedy!!! I understood then why this phone can be bought so cheaply..
Third matter—the BATTERY. What does it matter that the phone charges quickly when it lasted less time than a year-old POCO F3!!!. With average use, I had to charge the phone twice a day, which is unacceptable given the battery size relative to the screen.
Fortunately, I managed to sell the phone with almost no loss after a few days and became the happy owner of an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
I was with the Xiaomi brand for a long time, but I became so discouraged that I will not buy this phone again.

The phone is very nice at a flagship level, purchased in a Polish store a few days ago. What can I say? Unfortunately, if it weren't for the overheating, it would be a truly successful model. The phone can cause a burning sensation in the ear during normal, longer calls. I should mention that I do not have any games on it or many applications; I uninstalled or disabled all the factory ones I could and installed maybe 15 of the most necessary ones like banking, Messenger, Koleo. This did nothing because the phone can heat up just from a conversation. It is a pity because I liked it very much, but unfortunately, I have to return it. If such temperatures occur in autumn, what will happen during a hot summer? What is the use of a phone with many flagship features and processors that cannot make calls and cannot be used normally because it overheats? Unfortunately, an unsuccessful Xiaomi model, I do not recommend it. It is better to buy a mid-range phone and have peace of mind using it normally. I purchased the Motorola G54 5G Power with a 6000mAh battery and I am very satisfied. The phone is cool; it only warmed up slightly during the initial updates, and now, no matter what I do on it, it remains cool.

I used the phone for two years. From the very beginning, I had battery problems with it. Simply picking it up and writing an SMS was enough for 30% of the charge to disappear. It tended to experience system delays quite often. This was something that did not happen with my previous phone (Mi 10T), nor with the even earlier one (Redmi Note 8 Pro). The rounded corners are a disappointment. It is small and slippery; I do not have very large hands, but it is tragically small. I cannot count how many times it fell because I could not grip it comfortably. A strange issue that I have never encountered before is that occasionally it would not receive or send SMS. Sometimes this lasted for a few days, sometimes a week or two. The record was a month and a half (good thing that WhatsApp still exists) xD

As for the advantages. It takes nice photos, the sound through the headphones is very pleasant (Bose QC Ultra Earbuds) and after enabling Dolby Atmos, the phone speakers produce high quality sound. I have not found any other advantages in it.

Since June 27, 2023, I have owned the Redmi Note 12 4G NFC smartphone. It is a complete failure. A smartphone from 2023, it performs like a 10-year-old model from an inferior manufacturer. It runs slowly immediately after being turned on. It operates very clunkily and does not respond efficiently to commands. After the update, it actually works even worse. It gets very hot; the battery dropped from 100% to 72% after 32 minutes of testing. The only advantage is the 120Hz screen, but it causes the phone to heat up even more and the battery level to drop further. The built-in speaker is weak; the overall experience of using the phone is negative. During app installation or general use, it can suddenly display a black screen for 10 seconds where nothing can be done. The smartphone is not worth recommending, even at the price of 699 PLN; even though it was purchased for that amount, the price is still too high for what it offers. A 2-year-old Oppo smartphone works more efficiently and stably.

I have had the Xiaomi 12 for about 4 months and, to be honest, I am disappointed. My previous phone was the oneplus 7pro, which significantly exceeds the xiaomi in terms of performance and the pleasure of use. The responsiveness of the menu buttons is very poor compared to the OP; the same applies to the smoothness of operation, gestures, and operating modes. Another flaw is the 5GHz Wi-fi- it operates unreliably, unless there are two sim cards- in which case it does not work at all. Wi-fi calling and VO LTE are also too demanding for this device- it cannot decide which channel to use for calls and frequently disconnects. After disabling both services, calls work normally. I was attracted to the phone after reading many positive and average reviews, and also because of the brighter screen and 5g.

As a budget phone, it is fine, but if someone is looking for a phone for a longer period, I do not recommend it. I have had mine for a year; it might not lag very often, but it happens to shut down just like that or switch my application to the one I was using earlier. However, its biggest downside is the battery. As I already mentioned, I have had it for one year and the battery has 85% of its health; its capacity has dropped from 5000mAh to 4200mAh, which, let's be honest, is a poor result for a year-old phone. For comparison, I had my previous iPhone for 6 years and at the time of replacement, its battery health was 75%. In summary, if someone needs a budget phone, it is fine, but in the long run, I do not recommend it.
