Shortly after announcing the phablet One Max, HTC introduces another, very large model: a 5-inch Desire 709d. This phone has appeared on the Chinese official website of the manufacturer, so far there is no information about its wider distribution.
Although for now HTC Desire 709d will be available only in China, it is worth a closer look. The phone has a quite interesting styling with light green insertions – close to the speakers, the camera and the logo. I mention the speakers in the plural, because there is used BoomSound technology - the two powerful speakers at the short sides of the display.
The heart of Desire 709d is a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor supported by 1 GB of RAM. There is 8 GB of internal memory out of which there should be deducted the part occupied by the system. Luckily the phone has a microSD card slot. The smartphone also has an 8-megapixel main camera and 2.1-megapixel front camera, and gets power from the battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh. It runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
According to the specification, it will be a model directly placed on the average price cap. At the moment we do not know exactly how much it will cost. HTC Desire 709d will go on sale on October 23 and it will be available from leading Chinese carriers: China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom.

In the background of information on the new model, there is a rumour that it is HTC that will produce a phone signed with Amazon logo. The mention of this possibility appeared in the British newspaper The Financial Times, though none of the companies did comment on it. Even if the rumour confirms the facts, it will remain the melody of the future - we are talking about the middle of next year. Will HTC try? On the one hand the production of a smartphone for a commercial giant could help the Taiwanese company, but we should keep in mind the failure of the Facebook smartphone. I add that The Financial Times reports that Amazon plans to introduce three models of smartphones - but it does not specify whether all of them will come from HTC.
