While visiting the exhibition MWC 2014 in Barcelona, once again we hit the Alcatel stand - to somewhat closer look at the mobile solutions proposed by the manufacturer.
It's one of those players on the market which offers comprehensive solutions for all market segments. At the manufacturer stand we found models with advanced technical specifications with the full ecosystem of accessories. This refers to the example of the model Hero, with a mini- projector and active flaps, as well as the smartphone Idol X Plus.

We saw also unique in terms of design, construction of the Idol Alpha model, with transparent casing elements and eye-catching backlit keys.

In Barcelona, there was also a follower of the most popular Alcatel smartphone (yes, yes, we're talking about Idol), so a model Idol 2.
Our attention was also caught by a tiny communication device with a phone function called Pop Fit. We also checked how the devices from Pop series look and operate, in a full range of display sizes - from the most compact (Pop C1 - 3.3 inches), and those available so far only on the upper shelf of the market, such as 5.5-inch Pop C9.

...and from the less mobile things - Boom Band. This is a compact and lightweight gadget on a silicone bracelet, which - with a little help from a smartphone with Bluetooth interface - is able to discretely monitor the physical activity of the user.
We learned of the perturbations associated with the absence of LTE service in new Idol and unexpected competition of Nokia in the relevant market segment. After a brief review of the equipment we can recommend Idol Alpha offering relatively strong performance in the mid-shelf. The phone stands out with its original appearance. It's also worth paying attention to Idol 2, because it is an extremely slim design, improved over its predecessor, in which in addition to plastic there appeared clearly stressed metal components. If you wish for something more advanced, a good choice may be, of course, Hero or Idol X Plus. If you still remember Star, its place is worthily replaced by the small Idol 2 Mini with a display that makes a very good impression.

We will probably not need persuade experimenters to try out the latest Alcatel structure with Firefox OS on board - we wrote about it, moreover, on the occasion of the Mozilla press conference. The device seems to have a lot of opportunities and gives the new system a chance to gain more popularity.
After a frank and serious discussions, we know that this year on the market we should see a lot of the Alcatel devices at affordable prices and with considerable abilities. Some will go to operators, all should be available on the open market.
