So far, the brand Pioneer was not associated with smartphones. This, however, may change as the rights to its use in relation to mobile went to one of the Chinese companies. And it is not waiting – it has just announced the K68W model.
Unfortunately, Pioneer K68W in my humble opinion is not going to be worthy of the hardware of the legendary Japanese brand. K68W will be an Android 3G phone based on an 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek 6592 processor. The phone will receive 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM, and a 2100 mAh battery. It will support two SIM cards in GSM and WCDMA standards. The smartphone will be closed in a rather slim and elegant design, made of metal and bent glass. Android 4.4.2 KitKat interface appears on the 5.5-inch HD display. The list of equipment complements Dolby sound system and the access to local television service on request. At the moment we do not know the price of this device, but I do not expect it to be excessively high.
