Smartphones with Firefox did not conquer Europe or any other region of the world. Maybe it will happen in Japan? The country's KDDI network attempts to introduce this niche platform.

The network operator KDDI established the co-operation with LG, which proposes a mid-priced model with Firefox on board, designed specifically for the Japanese. The phone is to appear in December. Will it succeed? I sincerely doubt it. It would have to be a really affordable and well-equipped hardware. The Japanese are quite picky and used to getting mobiles with powerful capabilities. So far, on the world there is available 12 phones with Firefox OS. These are inexpensive constructions, offered in 24 countries. The main supplier of mobiles with Firefox are Chinese manufacturers, such as TCL, Huawei and ZTE. While the most expensive models with the system cost approx. hundred dollars, the proposal for Japan is to be twice as expensive. And this may be the proverbial nail in the coffin...
