Samsung Galaxy S20 FE officially presented!

We wrote a lot about the phone, we got to know the entire specification before the launch. Let's summarize - what does the new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE offer?

First of all, the phone is offered globally in two variants: 5G and 4G. Apart from networking, these variants differ in the processors used. The 5G model received the Snapdragon 865 processor, and the 4G - the Exynos 990. However, there is no differentiation between the European, Asian and US markets, as in the case of the main, flagship models, where the Exynos variant goes to Europe and most other markets.

Regardless of the processor variant, it is supported by 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB of high-speed UFS 3 flash memory. There is also space for a microSD card. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE received a 6.5-inch flat Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz image refresh rate and 20: 9 aspect ratio. The screen - protected by Gorilla Glass 3 - is of the Infinity-O type, which means it has a hole for a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2). In addition, a fingerprint reader is hidden under the display. The smartphone is powered by a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh, with fast 25 W charging and reverse and wireless charging. Unfortunately, only a 15-watt charger is included. The equipment of the smartphone is complemented by, among others NFC, stereo speakers tuned by AKG, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5. But there is no minijack.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is equipped with a triple rear camera, placed in a characteristic, rectangular frame. The main matrix with optical image stabilization (OIS) has 12 megapixels and works with a lens with an f/1.8 aperture. Another, also 12-megapixel, takes wide-angle photos with an f/2.2 lens and a field of view of 123 degrees. The last matrix - this time 8-megapixel - works with an f/2.4 telephoto lens giving a 3x lossless zoom (digital 30x) and armed with optical image stabilization. The camera can of course record 4K movies and offers additional features known from other Samsung models, such as "One shot", “Night mode” or the ability to switch between lenses during recording. All this is closed in a waterproof housing with IP68 certificate, measuring 159.8x74.5x8.4 mm and available in six colours. I suspect that it will be criticized for the fact that the back is covered with a practical, matte Glasstic material instead of glass. The weight of the phone is 190 g. Pre-sale of the Galaxy S20 FE model starts on Samsung.com on September 23, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. and will last until October 1, 2020. Prices - depending on the selected 4G or 5G variant, are respectively: $ 599 and $ 699. For now, only variants with 6+128 GB memory are available.
