For some time now, we have seen the birth of a new segment of smartphones. These are models close to the mid-price segment, but equipped almost as well as flagships. realme GT is more eye-catching

Both Xiaomi Mi 11i and realme GT can be liked. Both devices belong to a class in which the appearance of the smartphone is already taking on a lot of importance. Of course, judging the look is a subjective matter - but you will agree that realme GT - especially in sharp yellow - is more eye-catching than the subdued Mi 11i. Simplifying a bit, Xiaomi Mi 11i is a device with an elegant, classic style, while realme GT is more sporty and aggressive. Naturally, you can also find realme GT in a less flashy blue colour variant. However, it is also worth looking at the practical side of the housings. In the case of both models, it is impossible to have any reservations about ergonomics. The buttons and sockets are placed reasonably, the devices fit well in the hand. The yellow and black realme GT, however, has the back covered with Vegan Leather, i.e. ecological leather made of pineapple leaves. This material makes the phone not only pleasant to the touch, but also resistant to breaking the back in the event of a fall.

Xiaomi Mi 11i is bigger

If the size of the phone matters to you - I am in a hurry to report that realme GT is noticeably smaller than the competing Xiaomi. HERE you can see a visual comparison of realme GT size with Xiaomi Mi 11i. Note, however, that realme smartphone is noticeably thicker than its competitor - especially in the yellow version, covered with vegan leather. Of course, this is due to the differences in the design of the housing, but this parameter also needs attention. If, on the other hand, the key issue is the screen size and you adhere to the principle of "bigger is better" - the Xiaomi model may be a better choice.

Which screen is better?

When comparing displays, it is not easy to judge whether realme GT or Xiaomi Mi 11i will be better. Both smartphones received matrices made in AMOLED technology, which provides rich, intense colours, high brightness and deep blacks. The screens of the compared models have the same resolution and refresh rate. We can only notice a slight difference by looking at the value of the maximum brightness of the display. The Xiaomi screen peaks at 1,300 nits, while in realme - 1,000 nits. Remember, however, that the screens rarely work at their maximum capacity. I can assure you that both displays are perfect for sunny summer days, and at night they do not tire your eyesight. In both phones we have a dark interface mode, as well as a reading mode and functions related to eye protection. The touch panels of both models are refreshed with the same frequency of 360 Hz - the phones, however, differ in the glasses used. Xiaomi chose Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and realme - AGC Dragontrail.

realme GT and Xiaomi Mi 11i have comparable performance

realme GT and Xiaomi Mi 11i are currently one of the cheapest smartphones in which we can find the flagship Qualcomm processor. Snapdragon 888 consists of four Cortex A55 cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz, three Cortex A78 clocked up to 2.42 GHz and one Cortex X1 core clocked up to 2.84 GHz - to handle the most complex tasks. This system also includes a 5G Snapdragon X60 modem, which allows you to download data at a speed of up to 7.5 Gb/s and send them at a speed of up to 3 Gb/s. The Adreno 660 chip is responsible for graphics support. To make it more difficult for us to compare, the manufacturers used fast LPDDR5 memory in the operational case and UFS 3.1 in the flash case.

Do realme GT and Xiaomi Mi 11i differ in the capacity of these memories, then? Here we can already see the difference in favor of realme GT. We can have this model with 12 GB of RAM (only in yellow!), While in Mi 11i we only have one variant, 8 GB. Of course - this memory can also be found in realme GT - but blue. In the case of file memory, in both models we have 128 or 256 GB versions, unfortunately we will not enlarge the space for files with a microSD card in any of them. So - realme GT fares better in this comparison, if you choose its bolder and thicker colour variant.

Which has a better battery: realme GT or Xiaomi Mi 11i?

realme GT and Xiaomi Mi 11i are equipped with batteries of similar capacity. Xiaomi Mi 11i has a battery only 20 mAh larger, so in practice this difference will not be felt properly. Due to the use of similar display technologies and processors, the operating times of both models will be quite similar. In practice, you can assume that both realme GT and Xiaomi Mi 11i are able to run continuously all day long without requiring a top-up. If you are an "energy-saving" user, you can count on even two days of smartphone operation. However, realme GT is taking the lead in the fast charging category. This smartphone can fill the battery with a power of 65 W, which will allow it to reach a full charge in less than 40 minutes. Xiaomi Mi 11i with its 33-watt charger will unfortunately be left behind. However, fans of wireless charging will be disappointed - induction was missing in both models.

Better reader a classic one or under the screen?

This question does not come up by accident. realme GT has a fashionable, modern fingerprint reader hidden under the display, while Xiaomi Mi 11i has a classic, plate reader on the side of the housing. Which is better? To a large extent, it depends on the user and his preferences. Personally, I definitely prefer the classic reader as it is faster and more reliable. To be fair, I must admit, however, that I cannot have any serious objections to the operation of the reader in realme GT. It is good, fairly fast, and quite reliable. Of course, both models also have face recognition systems, which in some conditions can be a good alternative to protecting the phone with a fingerprint.

MIUI or realme UI?

Each of the manufacturers from today's comparison arm their smartphones with the company's interface overlay. Fortunately, in both cases we can talk about a simple interface not overloaded with additions. I consider both covers comfortable and convenient to use. If you prefer an interface closer to the clean Android interface, you will love realme UI. The MIUI interface offers a bit more additions - but don't worry: none of the overlays are missing anything and you won't find any unnecessary elements in any of them.

Does Xiaomi Mi 11i have better cameras than realme GT?

realme GT and Xiaomi Mi 11i are very similar smartphones, so the cameras have a similar layout. The large matrix is accompanied by additional wide-angle and macro modules, and individual selfie cameras are mounted in screen holes. In the field of photography, however, you can see a certain advantage of the more expensive model, Mi 11i. It has a much better macro camera, and its selfie camera also offers a slightly higher resolution. However, the differences between the main matrices are more fluid. The resolution itself - it would indicate an advantage of 108 Mpx in Xiaomi - but in turn in realme GT matrix we find pixels of a larger size. This will ensure better low-light shooting. Xiaomi makes up for it with a slightly better lens - it can therefore offer a slightly better quality of photos. realme GT, however, is not noticeably worse ... Anyway, see for yourself:

realme GT has a minijack, and Xiaomi Mi 11i has a remote control

Both smartphones are equipped with stereo speakers. One cannot object to the quality of their sound, of course, taking into account the size of the speakers. If I had to choose - I would probably bet on Xiaomi, because the speakers in the Mi 11i sound louder and more dynamic than in realme GT. The problem is that many of us listen to music relatively rarely through the phone's loudspeakers. We use headphones more often, and here realme GT comes to the fore, with a minijack socket, which Xiaomi doesn’t have. Mi 11i has another ace up its sleeve: it has an infrared transmitter. Thanks to it and the Mi Pilot application, you can use your smartphone as a universal TV remote control and a lot of other devices, controlled by infrared.

Is it better to buy realme GT or Xiaomi Mi 11i?

Both smartphones are an announcement of a successful purchase. They will allow you to enjoy the highest performance at a favorable price. None of them will disappoint you with the image quality on the display, battery performance or build quality. realme GT, however, has a minijack that was missing from Xiaomi Mi 11i. In addition, in the case of realme, you have a choice of a more powerful version of RAM - 12 GB. In turn, Xiaomi Mi 11i marks its advantage in the field of photography and speaker power. It also has a better, though less "fancy" fingerprint reader and a useful infrared transmitter. So it's time to look at the prices. Xiaomi Mi 11i with 8+128 GB memory costs 649.90 euros, and in the 8+256 GB version - 699.90 euros. In turn, for realme GT we will pay at most 599 euros - and for a more powerful model (12+256 GB) in an interesting, yellow color. However, this smartphone can be torn out even cheaper, opting for the 8+128 GB variant, in blue, 449 euros. In this case - the top realme GT would be my choice. I can assure you that not only because of the colour ...
