Xiaomi officially unveiled its latest Android smartphone, with a selfie camera hidden under the display, a Snapdragon 888+ processor and 120W fast charging.
The smartphone is packed in a ceramic unibody housing and weighs 225 grams. From the front, it has a 6.67-inch curved 3D AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz. It is protected by a Gorilla Glass Victus glass pane.
There is also a novelty here - a 20-megapixel front camera using CUP (Camera Under Panel) technology, on which hundreds of engineers have reportedly worked over the last five years. It is not only a hardware solution that hides the lens under the screen, but also a special image processing software. Specially arranged pixels around the camera ensure better light transmission.
There are three cameras on the rear panel. The main one has 108 MP, OIS and a lens with f/1.95 brightness. Next is the periscope camera with an 8-megapixel sensor and OIS. It offers a 5x optical zoom and a 50x digital zoom. The last one is a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view and a lens with f/2.2 brightness.
Mix 4 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ with an increased clock frequency and a new heat dissipation system based on graphene. Four variants of memory are to be available, with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal memory. In terms of connectivity, Mi Mix 4 includes support for 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC, but also Ultra Wideband (UWB).
The power supply is provided by a 4500 mAh battery that supports both 120 W wired fast charging and 50 W wireless fast charging. There is also a Boost mode, which is to ensure 100 percent battery charging in less than 15 minutes with a wired connection or 28 minutes with wireless charging.
The smartphone will be sold in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White, as well as in the new Ceramic Gray color, which, according to the manufacturer, is inspired by Chinese Song Dynasty porcelain. Sales of Xiaomi Mix 4 in China will start on August 16, and the price of the phone ranges from 4999 yuan to 6299 yuan. At this point, it is not known if and when it will appear outside of China.
