POCO M5 and POCO M5s officially presented

POCO M5 and POCO M5s - in terms of their names - seem to be close relatives. In fact, however, they are two completely different smartphones, differing not only in specification, but even in appearance.

POCO M5

POCO M5 is a model distinguished by an unusual styling of the rear part of the housing. We find there a wide, dark camera frame and a texture imitating leather. Of course, the housing is made of plastic, and there are three color versions to choose from. The heart of the POCO M5 is the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, built in a 6 nm technological process and supported by LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 memories. The display of the device has a diagonal of 6.58 inches, Full HD+ resolution and a brightness of 500 nits and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. The screen has a droplet notch for a 5-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2), while the rear camera has a main matrix of 50 Mpx (f 1.8, PDAF autofocus) and two 2 Mpx (depth sensor f/2.4 and macro f/2.2) ). The smartphone powers a 5000 mAh battery with 18-watt charging, and the equipment is complemented by, among others infrared remote control, NFC, mini-jack, side fingerprint reader and Bluetooth 5.3. Prices in Euroland will be EUR 189 for the 4+64 GB and EUR 209 for the 4+128 GB variant, but there will also be a 6+128 GB version for EUR 229.

POCO M5s

The POCO M5s is a model with a more conservative style, but with better specifications. It has an AMOLED display, covered with Gorilla Glass 3 glass. The screen has a diagonal of 6.43 inches and a Full HD+ resolution and standard refreshment. Under the "hood" of the POCO M5s we find a MediaTek Helio G95 processor and LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 memory, as well as a 5000 mAh battery, charging with 33 W. The rear camera is quadruple, and its main module has a resolution of 64 Mpx and an aperture f/1.8. For this we also have an 8 Mpx wide-angle module (f/2.2) and two 2-megapixel modules for macro and background effects (f/2.4). Similarly to the cheaper model, the POCO M5 also has a minijack, NFC, side fingerprint reader or an infrared transmitter, but in addition, this model includes stereo speakers. This model is available in three colors, and the inside of the housing is protected by a hydrophobic coating, which provides protection at the IP53 level. The European prices are EUR 209 for the 4+64 GB version and EUR 229 for the 4+128 GB variant, and in addition, EUR 249 for the most sensible 6+128 GB variant.
