We know more and more about Nothing Phone (2). On Twitter, the brand boasts of eco-friendly materials and support period, as well as revealing screen and battery details. Meanwhile, the performance test result hit Geekbench.

Nothing Phone (2) greener than its predecessor

The typical support period for Android phones is two years, but many brands try to differentiate themselves in this respect. Nothing is different - just like Nothing Phone 1, the new flagship smartphone will give users three years of system updates and four years of security patches.

Extended support was mentioned in the Twitter thread describing the ecological advantages of the new smartphone. Creating a long-lasting product while reducing the need to buy new products is the best you can do for the environment, but the use of renewable materials in production is also a significant step forward. Nothing boasts that the new smartphone uses three times more of this type of material than its predecessor - the aluminum frame, copper and tin of printed circuit boards, some plastic and more come from recycling. The packaging is also free of plastic. Still a long way from Fairphone, but better than nothing...

More battery and display

Continuing the ecological theme, the manufacturer informs that the Nothing Phone (2) carbon footprint is 53.45 kg - 5 kg less than the Nothing Phone (1)... even though the new smartphone has a screen of 0.15" a larger diagonal and a 200 mAh battery. This means that Nothing Phone (2) will get a 6.7-inch screen and a 4700 mAh battery.

Nothing Phone (2) tested on Geekbench

Meanwhile, we also unofficially learned the performance of the Nothing Phone (2) processor thanks to the popular benchmark Geekbench. The test result confirms that the new smartphone will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor and 12 GB RAM. This configuration gave the new Nothing 1253 points in single-core tests and 3833 in multi-core tests. The device was also accompanied by the Android 13 operating system, probably with the Nothing OS 1.5 interface overlay.
