In China, a new budget smartphone debuted, very similar to the previously presented Honor Play 40. How does it fare against its background?
At the end of last year, the Honor Play 40 Plus was launched, a variant of the Honor Play 40 with a larger battery, faster charging, smoother screen refresh and a better camera. Honor Play 40C, in turn, could be described as a more modest variant of the basic model ... except that it is not that much different from it.
The main difference can be seen at a glance - Honor Play 40C has only one rear camera. However, as befits a budgeter, Honor Play 40 did not offer anything impressive with its additional camera - it was a small depth sensor used mainly to blur the background in portrait photos, but above all to visually increase the number of lenses. The new model gave it up, but fortunately the flash allowed to keep the extremely fashionable layout of the camera island with two large vertically arranged circles. Anyway, we are dealing with a 13 Mpx main camera and a 5 Mpx front selfie camera in a drip notch.
Other parameters of Honor Play 40C are already the same as in Honor Play 40 - undoubtedly budget, but decent. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ processor combined with 6 GB of RAM may not be good for playing games, but it will carry the Android 13 operating system. More worried is the impossibility of expanding 128 GB of internal memory with a microSD card, but at least there is room for dual SIM and 3.5mm minijack. Charging with a power of 10 W will not please with speed, but at least 5200 mAh of battery capacity combined with the modest rest of the specifications should ensure a long operating time.
Overall, the parameters of the Honor Play 40C are suitable for a smartphone with a very low price, and here, fortunately, the new model does not disappoint - its price is 899 yuan. Honor Play 40, despite almost identical specifications, in the same memory configuration already cost 1380 yuan. There are always some pluses to be found!
