Sharp, a popular Japanese brand, has just unveiled a new smartphone with significantly improved specifications over its predecessor.
A year ago, the mid-range Sharp Aquos R10 debuted, and now the Sharp Aquos R11 has appeared on the manufacturer's official website, surpassing it in terms of processor and camera performance. The Sharp Aquos R11's price hasn't been revealed yet, but the manufacturer announces that the new smartphone will go on sale on July 9th, in three color variants designed in collaboration with Miyake Design – Navy Blue, Ivory Yellow, and Terracotta Red.
The Aquos R11 is powered by the semi-flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Its battery has a capacity of 5100 mAh and charges at 36W, and its 6.5-inch OLED Pro IGZO display has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px and a peak brightness of 3600 nits.
A particular highlight of the Sharp Aquos R11 is its camera setup, developed in collaboration with photography firm Leica. The 50.3 Mpx main camera is accompanied by a 50.3 Mpx wide-angle camera and a 38.5 Mpx telephoto camera, and there's a 50.3 Mpx selfie camera on the front. A set of AI features, including automatic zoom adjustment, enhances its photographic capabilities.
The Sharp Aquos R11 supports Bluetooth 6.0 and WiFi 7 connectivity, and its dust and water resistance is confirmed by IP6X, IPX5, IPX8, and IPX9 certifications. The Sharp Aquos R11 measures 156 x 74 x 8.9 mm and weighs 195 grams.
