This is nothing new - the characteristic camera system and Dynamic Island iPhone Pro is very popular with some brands of Android smartphones, so they imitate them to the best of their ability. Are ZTE's new products a good cheap alternative?
ZTE Axon 60 and ZTE Axon 60 Lite are noticeably superior to the previous generation in one respect - instead of a notch, they have a front selfie camera in the hole , which makes the Dynamic Island alternative (here known as ZTE Live Island) look more reasonable. In the case of the ZTE Axon 60, it is quite an impressive front camera for a budget smartphone, because it offers a resolution of 32 Mpx. ZTE Axon 60 Lite must be satisfied with an 8 Mpx selfie camera. On the back, both models have a 50 Mpx main camera and two auxiliary cameras - in the case of the main model it is a 2 Mpx macro camera and a background blur, and in the Lite model it is a 2 Mpx depth sensor and an additional "AI camera".
Both smartphones also have an IPS LCD screen, although with different parameters - in the case of the Axon 60 it is 6.72-inch with FHD+ resolution, and the Axon 60 Lite has a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. So there is nothing to brag about, but the battery is decent - in both models with a capacity of 5000 mAh, with a charging power of 22.5 W. What is less impressive is the Android 13 operating system, as well as the processor - Unisoc T606 with 4 + 256 GB of memory in case of the Axon 60 Lite, Unisoc T616 with 6+256 GB of memory and the standard Axon 60. Fortunately, both have a 3.5 mm minijack jack, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band WiFi.
ZTE Axon 60 is available in gold, purple and black, and its price in Mexico is 3,699 pesos, or approximately $ 219, € 203. ZTE Axon 60 Lite has purple, gold and blue colour variants and can be purchased for 2,999 pesos - $177, €165.
