The Vertu brand, famous for its luxurious and expensive phones, decided to remind itself of itself in a big way, presenting a luxurious and absurdly expensive smartphone in the form of a clamshell - Vertu IRONFLIP.
Vertu IRONFLIP is not a flip-flop like others. It has a good specification, typical for this type of smartphone, but this time it is not the most important thing. Here, luxury visible from a distance, on the casing, plays the main role. It can even be covered with alligator skin, and in a poorer version - with more down-to-earth cowhide. In addition, we also have sapphire glass covering the external display, gold-plated metal inserts, a steel hinge and a body made of light alloys.

The heart of the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with an additional A5 security system, supported by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of data memory. The main, flexible OLED display has a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a resolution of 2790x1188 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of up to 1200 nits, while the external, round secondary screen is 1.43-inch, also OLED, with a resolution of 466x466 pixels. The camera package is - considering the price of the device - rather modest. We have a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and on the outside of the flap there are 50+2 Mpx cameras. The phone is powered by a 4310 mAh battery with 65-watt charging, and the equipment list also includes NFC, a side fingerprint reader and stereo speakers. The folded smartphone has dimensions of 87.6x75.5x17.8 mm, and when unfolded they change to 170x75.5x8.29 mm.
In the case of this smartphone, however, the most important thing is the finish and the specific, luxurious casing. The cheapest version costs USD 4,500, and the most expensive - as much as USD 9,300. Meanwhile, the cheapest clamshell smartphone on the market can be purchased for just $404.
