The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has just gained a very serious competitor. The Honor Magic V5 foldable smartphone combines a thin shape with a capacious battery.
The new foldable phone is particularly slim in the white Ivory White variant, reaching a thickness of 4.1 mm when unfolded and weighing 217 g. The Black, Dawn Gold and Reddish Brown variants weigh 222 g and are 4.2 mm thick, or 8.8 mm thick when folded. Although the new model is thinner than the Honor Magic V3, its battery does not suffer at all, on the contrary - its capacity is now 6100 mAh. As before, it can be charged at 66W or wirelessly at 50W.
The Honor Magic V5 also boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and two LTPO OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5000 nits. The foldable screen is 7.95 inches, with a resolution of 2352 x 2172 px, while the external 6.43-inch screen has a resolution of 2376 x 1060 px and is protected by scratch-resistant NanoCrystal Shield glass. The Honor Magic V5 is also highly resistant to dust and water, as confirmed by IP58 and IP59 certificates. The photography setup has also been improved - the 50 Mpx main camera with an f/1.6 aperture is now accompanied by a 50 Mpx f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64 Mpx f/2.5 telephoto lens with a 1/2-inch focal length of 70 mm. There are also two cameras for selfies and video calls, 20 Mpx f/2.2 on the external and internal screens.
