HMD has unveiled an incredibly cheap and simple phone, but it also showed off a smartphone with the misleading name HMD Vibe2 Pro. There is nothing here that truly warrants the "Pro" label...
The HMD Vibe2 Pro is another budget release from HMD. It might appeal to less demanding customers, but I’m scratching my head wondering where the "Pro" in the name came from. Let's take a look... The display certainly isn't "Pro": it has a 6.78-inch diagonal, Full HD+ resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate—so it's typical, or at best, merely adequate. The same goes for the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, though fortunately, it is backed by a decent 8+128 GB memory configuration. It runs on Android 16, with a promise of two years of security support.

Could the "Pro" element be the 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 camera paired with a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 16-megapixel selfie camera? Probably not; once again, the performance is merely adequate at best. The standout feature is undoubtedly the 6,000 mAh battery with 33W charging. Additionally, the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G sports stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Again, solid specs, but nothing spectacular... So why the "Pro" label? Perhaps it was judged in the context of other HMD models...? Indeed, compared to those, the new model looks quite sensible, even though it remains firmly in the budget category. And the price? In India, it costs 16,000 or 18,000 rupees for the 6+128 GB and 8+128 GB versions, respectively. That converts to roughly 170–190 USD.
