Huawei P40 Pro+ is a very good phone. After switching from the Huawei P30 Pro, there are a few downsides- the lower position of the fingerprint reader in the older model suited me better. The wide-angle camera is narrower. The front camera island in the screen is a debatable matter. The lack of Google services is indeed a problem, as not everything can be replaced by GSpace. Examples include Android Auto, speech-to-text, vehicle manufacturer apps for car connectivity, and contactless payments from ING Bank. It is worth noting that an application that adds such capabilities comes to the rescue, and it really works great! However, it requires a fee for issuing a card and installing an additional application.
On the plus- huge 512GB data storage, a good speaker, very premium craftsmanship, and what is most important for me- the camera. The one in the P30 Pro was great, but this one is another surprise and a huge asset. The photos are excellent and have improved significantly. There are no color distortions, there is high detail, and the zooms and the cameras themselves perform exceptionally well. The photos are truly beautiful.
I currently own three Huawei phones: the Mate 20 pro, P30 Pro, and P40 Pro+. I have no sentimental attachment to the Mate, but choosing between the P30 Pro and the P40 Pro+ is a very difficult decision. This is solely due to the lack of Google services and the mentioned limitations.
Despite everything, I express my respect to Huawei because, despite the restrictions imposed on them, the phone is brilliant, and they deserve even greater applause for that! Huawei, I wish you success.
