Technical specifications

Hopeless. Nokia 5.3 bought 2 years ago. For 1 year constant resets because everything in it was failing. My mistake that I did not return it. Well. Since then it served as a secondary phone because I bought another brand. And finally in November 2022 I updated to Android 12. And that was the end of it. After the update it was not suitable for anything. So I did a factory reset. And that was my mistake. It got stuck in a loop of installation settings. Unfortunately I checked the "nokia.community" website too late. It turned out that it was not only my problem. Never again a Nokia and the so-called by some pure Android system.

I purchased the phone at the beginning of 2019. The first two years(as with any phone) - a great phone for such a price, and I use the phone very intensively. It was known that even then it stood out in appearance from typical smartphones, but it does not bother me at all; for me, a phone is just a tool. Unfortunately, later the appeal vanished, probably with some update. The phone slowed down significantly; it was very difficult to work with. Factory resets did not help; I decided on a custom ROM. There was not much choice, but the phone got a second life. Currently, it is not an exceptionally fast device; unfortunately, there is no dedicated custom ROM for it, which means for less experienced people, many software errors can be bothersome. At this moment, its biggest drawback is the battery - it is simply bad, it lasts half a day, but I use the phone quite often so it is hard for any old device to last longer. If there were greater availability of custom ROMs, I could buy this phone a second time, in 2023.

If not for the battery that now lasts only half a day, I would probably enjoy this device for several more years. We are also somewhat pressured by changing operating systems; so far Android 9 has been sufficient. However, signs have appeared of new applications that no longer work on Android 9, for example, the BP application. A nice, small screen with high resolution. The replaced screen did not cost a large sum of money. I would buy a newer model again, but there is nothing to choose from among the Nokia (HMD) products.

I have had this phone for 6 years (it is already the third contract) and I am delighted with it. Current mid range devices still do not measure up in terms of important components and capabilities. For now, I do not see a successor for it. Of course, the battery lasts significantly less time, but it can be tolerated. I still enjoy the aluminum casing, excellent glass. Unfortunately, this was the only such good device from Nokia in recent years.

I have had it for 7 years, although it was briefly with a person under my care, and I still use it. After this time, if it were not for the battery, it would still perform adequately. I evaluate its use as very positive.
