My wife claims that a man’s brain matures at age six, later – men only grow. I didn’t want to set her right and a few weeks ago, I turned up home carrying a huge carton. Inside the carton was Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition - a toy for slightly bigger boys.
What is Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition? It’s an advanced, remote-controlled, four-rotor helicopter. In other words, quadricopter. It differs from a kid’s toy in the extensive electronics and the lack of typical control transmitter. A smartphone screen with iOS or Android replaces it. The set includes two fuselages: lightweight, aerodynamic - for flights in the open air, and the second one, intended for public areas use - equipped with rotor shields. In addition, the set includes spare propellers’ blades in a variety of colours and their fastenings, two batteries and a charger with a few socket adapters for the various regions of the world.

GPS makes it possible to identify the direction of flight on a map as well as "bringing back" the drone to the launch site. The manufacturer also provides the opportunity to purchase spare parts. I have to mention one more thing, the tested model is already the next generation of this gadget. Compared with the previous one, the manufacturer slightly changed the shape of the fuselage and modified the electronics. The new model has a more perfect altimeter (barograph, used in airplanes) and 3D compass that provides more precise control.
