Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 so far has appeared only in the leaks and speculations. The manufacturer, however, finally revealed the details of the specification. Smartphones with the new SoC will be released next year.
Snapdragon 820 will debut in the first half of 2016, but I guess that the first devices will probably soon after. Manufactured in 14nm FinFET technology chip is based on a new 4-core processor Qualcomm Kryo with a clock of 2.2 GHz, which is to allow to obtain twice the performance than the Snapdragon 810. This is the first 64-bit processor which uses a set of instructions ARMv8-A. Kryo uses the Symphony System Manager (SSM) and DSP Hexagon 680 allowing for greater energy savings.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 should appeal to lovers of fast driving, because the LTE modem offered in it supports Category 12, which is the data download speed of 600 Mb/s and Cat. 13 for sending, or speed up to 150 Mb/s. Adreno 530 is responsible for the graphics. This system compared with Adreno 430 is intended to provide a 40 percent increase in performance computing capacity and again: lower energy consumption.
The implementation of Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 may also tell about the concern of the manufacturer in question of the battery. It is to be four times faster than during a conventional charging and 38% more efficient than in the case of Quick Charge 2.0.
If only the smartphone's camera allows for it, Snapdragon 820 will provide the ability to play and record video at a resolution of UHD and better-lit photos with Low Light Vision (LLV). There can also be available the support of the fingerprint scanner.
