Honor has unveiled two related budget-friendly smartphones. While most of the specifications for the Honor X8e and Honor X8e s are remarkably modest, there are some bright spots.
The Honor X8e is a simple, affordable, budget-tier smartphone that nonetheless surprises with a 108-megapixel camera. This stands out impressively against the rest of the spec sheet—though video recording capabilities are limited to Full HD, as is the case with the 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 685, a reliable but aging processor. The 6.87-inch HD+ LCD screen is also somewhat underwhelming, though it does offer a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1020 nits. The 8100 mAh battery, paired with 45W charging, is a much stronger feature. The phone also boasts impressive durability—having been tested against drops from 2.5 meters—and features a highly robust, sealed design with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. Pricing has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be quite accessible. The smartphone shares similarities with the Honor X7e Plus, though it differs in a few key details.

To make things even more interesting, Honor has also unveiled a related model, the Honor X8e s. It is largely identical to the device described above—featuring the same cameras, battery, processor, and display. The difference lies in the memory configuration: while the Honor X8e comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, the Honor X8e s offers a more practical 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Additionally, it is not available in the orange color option. These are essentially the only differences, though the latter model may, of course, carry a slightly higher price tag.
