Corning officially announced the introduction of a new generation of glass, which is characterized by improved resistance to drops and scratches. Gorilla Glass 5 is to hit smartphones later this year.

Until now, Gorilla Glass was implemented in 1800 products of 40 major brands, which together have been sold in an impressive number of more than 4.5 billion copies. Why the popularity?
