Vivo has unveiled the new iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro gaming models.

As you probably guessed, both models are related to each other, and the variant with the note Pro in the name just has a few additional improvements. What's the difference between the new models?

The differences between the models

The iQOO 5 Pro model has a display with folded edges, and iQOO 5 - a flat one. iQOO 5 Pro has an optical stabilization in the main camera as well as a periscope telephoto camera. The iQOO 5 model has a portrait lens here. In the base model you will also find a larger battery, but in the Pro variant - faster charging. You will see the differences best by comparing the specifications in the tables.

Common features of Vivo iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro

The heart of both smartphones are Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processors with 5G modems, combined with different versions of LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 memory - a list of variants can be found in the price section. Both models received AMOLED displays with a diagonal of 6.56 inches and a resolution of 2376x1080 px, with a 120 Hz image refresh rate and a 240 Hz touch panel. The displays have integrated fingerprint readers and support for HDR10+. The equipment is complemented by stereo speakers, NFC, DualSIM and 16-megapixel selfie cameras - with an f/2.45 aperture, placed in a screen hole.

The iQOO 5 model features a triple camera with a main 50 Mpx matrix and f/1.85 aperture and a 13 Mpx, f/2.2 wide-angle module. They are complemented by another 13 Mpx camera with an f/2.46 portrait lens. The smartphone powers a 4500 mAh battery with a quick 55 W charge.

Vivo iQOO 5 Pro

The iQOO 5 Pro model received a more interesting photographic set, with a 50-megapixel main matrix and an optically stabilized lens with f/1.85. The wide-angle camera is similar to the base model, and instead of the portrait module, we have a periscope zoom. The 8 Mpx matrix works with a lens that gives a 5x optical zoom and digital zoom up to 60x. Interestingly, the Pro variant received a smaller battery - 4000 mAh. It has a super fast 120 W charge that will fill the battery in a quarter of an hour. The smartphone has a bold colour scheme, inspired by sports versions of BMW cars.
