Xiaomi 13 officially – a launch with a slip

Smartphones Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro - like what year - combines many common features, such as powerful processors, good displays or decent cameras. This year, however, smartphones have gained a completely different look, which makes them distinguishable at first glance. They differ in style - and they come in a wide and quite unusual - as for flagships - color palette. In both models we will find powerful stereo speakers, infrared emitters, NFC or under-screen fingerprint readers. However, we will not find minijacks or microSD card slots. For the first time in the history of flagship Xiaomi, we have certified IP68 waterproof and dustproof, we also get 50-watt inductive charging and 10-watt return. The Xiaomi 13 series models are equipped with AMOLED Samsung E6 displays, although with different shapes, sizes and resolutions. The screens peak at a brightness of up to 1,900 nits, with a typical 1,200 nits. In both models, the MIUI14 interface, based on the Android 13 operating system, debuts.

Xiaomi 13 is more "angular" - it has flat sides and an equally flat 6.36-inch Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz . The heart of the smartphone is, of course, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system with a dedicated, extensive cooling system. The processor is supported by LPDDR5x and UFS 4.0 memories, and the power supply is provided by a 4500 mAh battery with 67-watt charging. Xiaomi 13 received a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0) and a 50-megapixel main camera, with Optical Image Stabilization and f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera unit is complemented by a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture and a 3.2x telephoto camera with a 10-megapixel matrix and f/2.0 aperture. The following versions will be offered in China:

The colour version - Special Edition - comes only with the top memory set, but still costs 4999 yuan.

Xiaomi 13 Pro

Xiaomi 13 Pro also has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and LPDDR5x and UFS 4.0 memory, but it received a slightly rounder shape. It has the curved sides of the 6.73-inch 2K display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as the much subtler sides of the metal frame. The battery, invariably, has a capacity of 4820 mAh, but it charges with a power of 120 W. In the field of photography, of course, it is more "Pro". The selfie camera remained the same as in the base, but the role of the main camera is played by the Sony IMX989 inch matrix with a lens with optical OIS stabilization and f/1.9 aperture. The other cameras are - invariably - a wide-angle and telephoto unit, respectively with 50 Mpx matrices (114 degrees and 3.2x with OIS) and f/2.2 and f/2.0 apertures.
