We've only just heard about the Galaxy S24+ screen, and now there's more interesting information about the middle of the three upcoming flagship smartphones.
Geekbench database just added test results for device serial number SM-S926U - the name suggests that this is a version of next year's Samsung Galaxy S24+ intended for sale in the United States. We've heard reports of the Exynos processor in the Galaxy S24 before, but new data suggests otherwise - it's possible that, as in previous years, the processor powering Samsung smartphones will depend on region.
One thing is certain - it was not Exynos that powered the device tested in Geekbench. The phone listed in the database was equipped with a processor from Qualcomm with the Adreno 750 graphics chip and eight cores in an unusual 2+2+3+1 arrangement. Officially, it was only signed with the pseudonym "Pineapple", but the parameters can be guessed that it is a processor debuting at the end of 2023 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Its performance in the performance test looks impressive - the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus scored as much as 2233 in single-core tests and 6661 in multi-core tests, which compared to Galaxy S23 in Geekbench is a significant improvement. The tested model was additionally equipped with 8 GB of RAM and the Android 14 operating system. We will have to see if the flagship Samsung with such a processor will also come to us...
