Rising memory prices have brought budget smartphones back into favor. Another representative of this genre has just been released: the Redmi 17C.
Redmi 17C actually looks good – it has a sleek design in attractive color combinations. While the specs certainly won't impress, the price might make up for it a bit... The smartphone features a large, 6.88-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and up to 600 nits of brightness, but with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor, but the bottleneck isn't the processor itself, as it's only 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is available in 64 and 128 GB capacities, which doesn't necessarily improve the device's image. This is especially true given the smartphone's rather demanding Xiaomi HyperOS 3 operating system. The cameras, which are 5-megapixel front and 13-megapixel rear, won't do the trick either. The 5160 mAh battery with 18-watt charging is the best part, though it's also underwhelming. The low prices of 799 and 899 yuan, or $118-133, are a consolation.
