At the beginning of 2024, we will have another major premiere from Samsung - as usual, the new generation of flagship smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, will play an important role. However, they may not be the main attraction...
Samsung's flagship smartphones are undoubtedly worth attention, but they usually change quite subtly from year to year. Our Galaxy S23 Ultra review confirmed this, and information so far about next year's specifications suggests similarly moderate changes. It is therefore possible that Samsung's new invention will cause a bigger stir - even if the smart ring ultimately finds fewer buyers than the smartphone.
Smartwatches can be found today in the offer of many smartphone manufacturers, but the Smart Ring remains a more niche product - even though it is somewhat of a logical evolution of the minimalist smart band. Galaxy Ring, like smart rings already on the market, would offer medical and sports measurements known from smartwatches and wristbands, while meeting the needs of people who do not want to wear a large device on their hand. While smartwatches increase their autonomy and size, offering large displays and mobile connectivity, smart rings go the other way, collecting data from the user's body using a minimal interface.
There have already been rumors about the Galaxy smart ring - apparently the manufacturer is ready to start mass production, but still has to deal with regulations regarding products with medical applications. Now the proven leakster Ice Universe confirms the release date of the new device - Samsung Galaxy Ring is scheduled to debut in January 2024, along with classic smartphones. What's more, according to the leakster, the ring will be the star of the event... let's see if the Korean giant will manage to make the Smart Ring concept a new hit!
