The launch of the affordable Motorola Moto G Play (2024) smartphone was announced in Canada. What does the new model offer?
Motorola Moto G Play (2024) is a budget smartphone, so it does not offer very extensive specifications. The smartphone has a plastic casing (currently available in one color), meeting the requirements of the IP52 tightness class, which means that the device is protected against accidental splashes or rain. The front is occupied by an IPS display with a diagonal of 6.5 inches, HD+ resolution and an image refresh rate of 90 Hz. The screen has a fairly wide "chin" at the bottom, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and at the top - a hole for an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The heart of the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, which unfortunately means that there is no support for the 5G network. The processor is supported by modest 6+64 GB memories, but the situation may be saved by Motorola's lightweight interface, based on Android 13.
On the back of the phone we can find a rarity - a single camera with a 50-megapixel matrix, next to which there is an LED diode to imitate an additional lens. The phone is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 15-watt charging, but it looks like a charger will not be included in the box in Canada. As you can see, we are dealing with a simple, cheap and unsophisticated smartphone. The price for the Canadian market has not been announced, but beyond the southern border of that country, this model is also to be offered and it is known that it will cost US $150.
