Samsung has officially unveiled its new foldable smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It is lighter and slimmer than the basic model, but unfortunately also more expensive.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is slimmer and lighter than the basic model, but also has larger displays. Specifically, the weight has been reduced by only 3 grams, but the thickness has been significantly reduced. The folded smartphone is 10.6 mm thick, while the standard Fold is 12.1 mm thick. When unfolded, the thickness of the new model is reduced to 4.9 mm compared to 5.6 mm in the standard Fold. The external display has grown from 6.3 to 6.5 inches, and the internal display from 7.6 to 8 inches. Both displays are Dynamic AMOLED 2X, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The cameras have also been changed. The main camera has a 200 megapixel matrix, and next to it we have the already familiar cameras: a 12 Mpx wide-angle, a 10 Mpx telephoto, as well as a 10 Mpx selfie camera and a 4 Mpx under the internal display.

The interior is already the same as in the classic Fold. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor and a 4400 mAh battery with 25-watt wired charging and 15-watt induction. The smartphone still offers IP48 liquid and dust resistance. For now, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is available only in Korea, priced at 2,789,600 won, or $2,025. There are no plans to release this model more widely, although it will probably also come to China in the W series, exclusive to that country.
