As announced, Vivo Y500 has officially launched. It's time to summarise this smartphone's advantages.
We already knew quite a bit about Vivo Y500 before its official launch - but it's time to verify the information and take a look at the price list. A huge advantage of this smartphone – literally – is its 8200 mAh battery, which charges quite quickly with 90W of power. Despite this battery, the smartphone maintains a slim build and manageable weight – measuring 163.1 x 75.9 x 8.23 mm and weighing 213 g. Another advantage of this model is its high level of dust and water resistance – compliant with IP68, IP69, and IP69+ classes. The 6.77-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 3840 Hz PWM dimming also looks quite good.

Vivo Y500 also features stereo speakers, an under-screen fingerprint reader, and an improved omnidirectional antenna system. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, supported by LPDDR4X and UFS 3.1 memory, also looks promising. The cameras are the least impressive. The front camera is a mere 8-megapixel with an f/2.05 aperture, while the rear camera is 50-megapixel with an f/1.8 aperture and an additional 2-megapixel background blur (f/2.4). There are three casing colours and four memory kits to choose from:
- 8+128GB – 1399 yuan, $199
- 8+256GB – 1599 yuan, $225
- 12+256GB – 1799 yuan, $255
- 12+512GB – 1999 yuan, $280
