Sony Xperia 10 VII is official! The manufacturer has sprung a surprise and introduced a new mid-range smartphone without prior announcement. Another surprise is the unusual styling of the new Xperia.
Xperia 10 VII has an unusual style for Sony, with a horizontal camera bezel. However, the overall shape of the smartphone and its colors are already typical of the Japanese brand. What's inside? This is a mid-range smartphone, so it has a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and 8GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot. The smartphone also has an equally "old-fashioned" minijack and fairly wide bezels around the small, 6.1-inch display. It's a shame they're there—without them, the smartphone would be even smaller. On the other hand, these bezels prevent the screen from being obstructed by the punch-hole for the selfie camera. The camera is 8 megapixels, and the aforementioned screen is an OLED matrix with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The smartphone is powered by a 5000mAh battery and runs Android 15. It comes with four updates and six years of security support, and it also includes Google Gemini and Circle Search. The smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and a 24 mm focal length, and a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 1/3-inch sensor and a 16 mm focal length. The main camera also provides a zoom equivalent to a 48 mm focal length. A dedicated shutter button on the side of the smartphone allows you to launch the camera and take a photo with one press. A long press of this button will launch the camera even when the screen is locked. The equipment is complemented by front-facing stereo speakers and IP65/68 waterproofing. The housing measures 156.5x76x12 mm, and the smartphone weighs 168 g. Sony Xperia 10 VII is expected to cost 450 euros. There will be three colour variants to choose from.
