Two months ago, Vivo Y50 5G and Vivo Y50m 5G were launched... one smartphone with two names. Now, Vivo Y50i has joined them – a slightly less identical model.
From the outside, the new model doesn't really stand out – it has the rectangular camera island typical of Vivo's mid-range and budget models, a flat display with a selfie camera in a notch, and its color options – plain black and blue, and patterned platinum – are the same as the previous two variants. The difference is... the charging power - for some reason, the Vivo Y50i's battery can only be charged at 15W, while Vivo Y50 5G and Vivo Y50m 5G supported 44W charging. The battery capacity is better - 6000 mAh, which not long ago would have been above average for a budget smartphone, but today, in the age of silicon-carbon batteries, 7000 mAh is less impressive, though still attractive.
Another advantage of Vivo Y50i is its Mediatek Dimensity 6300 processor, enabling 5G connectivity. It comes with a single memory variant – 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The rest is very modest – its screen is a 6.74-inch LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits, and it features a 13 Mpx main camera and a 5 Mpx selfie camera. The operating system is Android 15 with the Origin OS 5 interface, and there's also a 3.5mm audio jack and a fingerprint reader integrated with the power button. The smartphone measures 167.3 x 76.95 x 8.19 mm and weighs 204 grams.
Vivo Y50i is similar to the previous two models not only in appearance and specifications, but also in price – 1,499 yuan, which translates to approximately €180, $210.
