The very inexpensive but quite attractive Honor Play 70C smartphone has debuted in China. What does it offer, besides its low price?
The Honor Play 70C is available in three colors, with a nicely accentuated camera bezel, flat sides, and a matte finish. You might complain a bit that the camera system resembles that used by Apple – but let it be… The Honor Play 70C is supposed to be affordable, so styling takes a backseat – unfortunately, so are the specifications… You won't find any more powerful features in this smartphone – everything is in keeping with its low price. So, we have a 6.75-inch TFT screen with HD+ resolution and an equally budget-friendly MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor. The system is supported by a modest 4 GB of RAM or a slightly better 6 GB, while internal storage is offered in a far from sufficient 64 GB and a slightly better 128 GB variants.

The operating system is Android 15 with the MagicOS 9.0 interface, and power is provided by a 5300 mAh battery that charges at 15W. The cameras are as modest as the rest: the front is 5 megapixels, the rear is 13 megapixels, and both have f/2.2 lenses. So, is this model all about compromises and shortcomings? Well, the only "tweaks" will be seen by Chinese residents at the checkout, where they'll have to pay for the new Honor:
- 4+64 GB - 599 yuan, $89
- 4+128 GB - 699 yuan, $103
- 6+128 GB - 799 yuan, $117
