Oppo's new mid-range smartphone series looks good, but the specifications and prices of their global variants won't appeal to everyone.
Thanks to leaks, we already knew that Oppo Reno16 and Oppo Reno16 Pro would be different outside of China, and now their detailed specifications can be confirmed on the manufacturer's official website. The processors and batteries are more modest – Oppo Reno16 5G uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while Reno16 Pro 5G is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8550. The battery capacities of the base and Pro variants are 6000 mAh and 6700 mAh, respectively, but the charging power remains, thankfully, unchanged – it can still charge at 80W using SuperVOOC technology.
Interestingly, the global Reno16 Pro 5G has one advantage over the Chinese model – a smoother 144 Hz refresh rate. The primary camera remains at 120 Hz, and both feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 3600 nits.
The camera setup remains largely unchanged – Oppo Reno16 5G's main camera is a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600, accompanied by a 50-megapixel GC50F6 wide-angle camera, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. The more expensive Oppo Reno 16 Pro model stands out in this regard only with its main camera, which is handled by a 200-megapixel Samsung S5KHP5 sensor. Both smartphones run Android 16 with the ColorOS 16 interface and offer IP68, IP69, and IP69K waterproofing certifications.

Oppo Reno16 5G and Reno16 Pro 5G , along with the additional Oppo Bubble Display and Oppo Enco Air 5 earphones, will go on sale in India on July 2, with a European launch on July 3. The base Oppo Reno16 5G with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage will cost €899, while the European price of Reno16 Pro 5G in the cheapest 12 + 512 GB variant will be €1,099. Until July 31, you can get them at a discounted price, with a €100 discount on the base Oppo Reno 16 and a €200 discount on the Oppo Reno 16 Pro.
