The long-awaited Redmi K90 Ultra smartphone was unveiled in China today. It's essentially a full-blown flagship, though it has a few compromises to maintain an affordable price. The smartphone is accompanied by the premiere Redmi Headphones Neo headphones.
The Redmi K90 Ultra doesn't have the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, but it's still a top-of-the-line one, with an active cooling system and fast LPDDR5x and UFS 4.1 memory. The powerful processor is complemented by a decent display: a 6.83-inch AMOLED matrix with a resolution of 1280x2772 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, and a brightness of up to 3500 nits. Gamers can enjoy touch sampling at 3500 Hz and 480 Hz with multitouch. Power is supplied by a large 8550 mAh battery with fast 100-watt charging, along with 22.5-watt reverse charging. HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 serves as the operating system. Photography is also quite good, albeit with a compromised 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. The main camera, however, is a 50-megapixel Light Hunter 800 sensor with a 1/1.55-inch aperture and an f/1.68 lens enhanced with OIS. Selfies are provided by a 20-megapixel front camera, and other features include Bose stereo speakers and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The housing is waterproof to IP66 and IP69 standards. There are three colors to choose from, and the prices are as follows:
- 12+256GB - 2999 yuan, $445
- 16+256GB - 3199 yuan, $470
- 12+512GB - 3499 yuan, $515
- 16+512GB - 3699 yuan, $545

The Redmi Headphones Neo, an over-ear headset, also debuts alongside the new smartphone. They feature 42 dB active noise cancellation and titanium-coated diaphragms. They also feature a metal headband and are foldable. The headphones have a rechargeable battery that provides up to 72 hours of listening time, but just 10 minutes of charging provides 5 hours of music. The Redmi Headphones Neo retails for 297 yuan, or $45.
