FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

OnePlus 12 supports inductive charging at 50 W. Although the phone supports inductive charging, a wireless charger is usually not found in the box with the device. If you want to use this type of charging, you need to purchase a separate device. The phone can also be charged with a wired charger up to 100 W.
Unfortunately, OnePlus 12 has been designed without a jack socket. The lack of a jack socket means you will need to use Bluetooth headphones. Alternatively, you can purchase a specialised adapter to connect wired headphones to the device. If you are interested in this feature, we invite you to use our advanced search.

Out of the box (immediately after purchase) actually brilliant ? but only until the updates from 2025. With every update, something gets broken or simply stops working. For example, you cannot change the shape of the tiles ? meaning it is possible only in the preview, but not in reality. Many functional advantages ? also with every subsequent update ? disappear. I report these problems to them, but they (practically) only pretend that they want to do something ? they constantly want, for example, videos to be sent showing how something is not working. I have already stopped this because I noticed that they are starting to ?behave evasively? ? because how many times can you talk about the same thing (???). They even took the device from me (at their expense) for repair, which was supposed to last (with shipping) about a week and a half. After many interventions, I received it after (exactly) a month. I was deluding myself, but as it turned out, ?of course? they did not improve anything. Why they sent it to the Netherlands, and on the way it went to France ? probably no one knows. Conclusion: avoid OnePlus devices as far as possible.

According to the manufacturer, the phone supports DSDA (Dual Sim Dual Active).
Simultaneous (meaning alternating "at the same time") access to both cards and both networks does not mean Dual Active. Dual Active is access for both cards to both networks at the exact same time. It is the simultaneous presence of two modems in the device. There are few such smartphones, and I have not seen a new one in years. If OnePlus actually provides such information, please point it out to me specifically. I will verify it and - if necessary - correct it. (jf)

I have been planning to buy a new smartphone for a long time. Due to the large number of positive reviews for the OnePlus 12 - I chose this specific model. Although my greatest doubt was the curved screen. Generally, most reviewers do not seem to like this solution. It was pointed out that it is impractical because protective films and glasses will peel off at the edges; and considering that we would also put on some kind of case, it would simply be a disaster (the edges of the case would push against the screen protection).
So I tried to change my approach and look into some other smartphone (because I personally must have a well-protected phone, as every phone in my case ends its life with a broken screen), as long as it did not have a curved screen. After watching many reviews again and considering a smartphone up to 3500 PLN, it turned out again that the OnePlus 12 is the best choice - because for that money I will not get more anywhere else.
So I bought it. And I would like to present my impressions.
Firstly, I like the smartphone very much. It works fast, has a wonderful display with very great depth, sharpness, and colors. I am not an expert in photography, but it takes very good photos, with natural colors and a large amount of detail - for me, they are flawless. The battery is fantastic - I set its charging to a maximum of 80% in order to extend its life, and the work/charging cycle for me looks like this: when I start the day in the morning it has 75%, during the day I use internet radio, Spotify, make calls, sometimes take photos, browse the internet a lot, and in the evening at 11 PM I still have about 20%, and then before going to sleep I connect the phone to the original charger and ATTENTION charging to 80% takes about 20 minutes. So I am shocked that I charge the phone once a day for 20 minutes.
Finally, I left the matter of the curved screen :)
Overall, I have never had a phone with such a screen and I must say that I LIKE IT. My son has an iPhone with a screen flat (like the Earth), and when I compare the appearance of both devices, mine looks nicer, more interesting, and catches the eye more, but that is probably a matter of taste.
However, from a practical side - the curvature does indeed cause a certain problem with choosing the right screen protection, but I solved it - so it is possible.
First, I bought a film from the 3mk company, which is applied wet, and I managed to install it perfectly, nothing was coming off at the edges, but only for a while; because when the "back cover" from the Spigen company arrived, it turned out to be true that they started to press against the film and already the next day it was sticking out at the edges.
However, I did not give up and ordered a new film, but this time from Spigen, because in the description of the case I read that they work well together in this regard. Well, the problem is solved - the case + protective film from this company are so well-matched that nothing peels off. This new film was also applied wet - I believe this is the best method of installation - because then it is easier to position the film in the right place.
Summary:
With a clear conscience, I recommend the OnePlus 12 - I have never had such an exceptionally well-equipped smartphone, and I have already damaged several beyond repair in my lifetime :)

Hello, I moved from the OP7 Pro to the OP12. The difference is truly massive; 5 generations from 7 to 12 makes a difference. The OnePlus 12 as an everyday phone makes a very positive impression; I will list some of its advantages. Android 14 (on the OP7 I had the Pro version) and yet 14 runs much better. The processor is several generations newer, you can feel the difference; it supposedly has those 8 cores like in the previous phone, but the processor power is much more powerful and efficient in the OP12 than in the OP7. The battery easily lasts even 2 days on a single charge with normal use including 5G internet, some GPS, and some social media like Instagram, FB, and others. It easily lasts 1.5 days. The battery charges to full in 30 minutes on an 80 watt charger. The screen is a revelation; the transition from the OP7 Pro where it was 60/90 Hz versus the OP12 90/120 Hz is a significant difference; even though both phones have AMOLED, the 12 has a very good screen. 16 GB of RAM with an expansion option up to 28 GB max; you can add memory through the option of taking RAM from the ROM storage. I did not check the Adreno 750 graphics chip because I do not play games on my phone. The camera, or rather the three rear cameras, are 50/48/64 MP. Compared to the camera from the old phone versus the new one, the difference is colossal in terms of options. Additional advantages are wireless charging and infrared (thanks to which I can turn on the television like with a regular infrared remote). Only one downside: the phone warms up quickly during GPS use or more demanding tasks. That would be all regarding the OP12. The phone version is 16/512 GB. One thing must be admitted about OnePlus: they design the software so well that nothing lags on this phone; it was the same on the OP7, but when it comes to optimization, OnePlus as a manufacturer is a master at it. I am very satisfied with the new phone. If someone is looking for a phone that is neither an iPhone nor a Samsung, I recommend OnePlus as a choice because it is good competition at a good price.

The OnePlus 12 phone completely surprised me. I purchased it after reading over a dozen reviews and choosing between the latest Samsung, the iPhone 16, and the Motorola Razr. I considered those three but bought a completely different one. What was the deciding factor? Price and favorable installments as well, but the most beautiful aspects were the screen, colors, delicate sounds, comfort, and intuitiveness of operation. I have had it for over a dozen days and; the battery is incredible - obviously, as is typical at the beginning, there has been intensive use. Videos and podcasts on YouTube, then the installation of television. I receive over a dozen programs via the Orange TV application as part of my subscription. Over a dozen calls, including those with the camera turned on. Testing all the necessary applications and, despite such intensive use, it lasted a day and a half. Due to various activities, I also use a Samsung s10e and an iPhone 7 (Yes, seven). My experiment consisted of using the phone sporadically without games, only for calling and receiving messages: Wednesday - the phone has 20% battery, I charge it to full in 16-17 minutes, now it is Sunday and it has 24% battery (switched on the whole time). I turned off the news and opinion gathering functions. The phone does not have a second SIM card slot, but it is possible to install an eSIM card. Everything depends on the operator; there are no problems with Orange and Nju-mobile. The phone detects both independent numbers and asks us which one we want to call from. Brilliant. Could it be considered a disadvantage that it is heavy? (220g), but for me, it is an advantage because I feel it in my pocket; the large screen is also impressive, and given the weaker eyesight of an older gentleman - I operate it without glasses. The fingerprint reader works brilliantly. The phone works well with a hearing aid. When the aid is on - only I hear the ringtone and I have the entire conversation in my headphones hands-free.

Why is there no section for 5G connectivity standards under the data transmission sub-item in the specification? Instead, there are still sections for EMS, push to talk, and WAP. Have you not noticed that it is no longer the 1990s? In addition, I do not believe that this phone supports WAP 2.0. Nothing produced more recently than 25 years ago supports WAP, as such a thing has not existed for a long time.

1. 5G frequencies are provided in the main specification section after expanding "read more" in the "Standards" point.
2. 5G transfer speeds are provided in the "Data transmission" section if they are provided by the smartphone manufacturer. Theoretical 5G transfer speeds are provided (if the processor/modem manufacturer provides them) in the main section, in the "Processor" point, after clicking "read more". In this case, they are available – it is sufficient to look there.
3. The validity of us providing EMS and WAP entries in the case of smartphones indeed remains a questionable matter; we are aware of this and will organize it sooner or later.
4. As far as I know, there are no formal or technological obstacles to a smartphone supporting the last version of WAP and xHTML. A suitable browser and a WAP page that can be viewed are sufficient for this.
5. It is difficult for me to speak for my colleagues, but I have noticed that it is no longer the 1990s, I regret this very much, and I would prefer not to be reminded of it.
6. I kindly request that questions be asked in the correct place. The appropriate tab labeled "Questions and answers" is intended for this. If a question is placed in the smartphone review section, it may not be published.
If I have not explained everything with sufficient detail, please let me know. In the questions tab. (jf)

I have been using it for 3 months now, and it is difficult to find any major faults with this smartphone. Starting with the advantages:
- Screen: phenomenal colors, sharpness, refresh rate, brightness adjustment... Top level.
- Build: superb, the back glass does not collect fingerprints and is not slippery, it feels almost "suede-like" (I have the black version).
- Performance: speed, smoothness, operational stability... Super.
- Haptics: excellent.
- Stereo speakers: very good, though more focused on bass than soundstage; on headphones... Top level.
- Battery: lasts 1.5 days with frequent use, mainly internet, listening to music, YouTube. Rapid charging.
- Camera: very good and versatile. I compared it with the S24U and iPhone 16 Pro; those have a better portrait mode, but OnePlus takes better photos after dark and at night.
- OxygenOS 15 skin: functional, clear, with added AI features.
- Compatibility: works flawlessly with other devices, such as Samsung Bluetooth headphones and a Huawei watch.

Disadvantages:
- This is not a small phone, you can feel it in your hand, but you can get used to it.
- After putting on a case, a groove forms along the edges due to the curved screen, where dust easily accumulates.
- Macro mode in the camera activates from too great a distance, even from over 20 cm, but it can be turned off to focus with the main lens instead.
- During recording, there is no option to switch between the rear and front cameras. Samsung has this feature.
Overall, I recommend it to everyone; it is hard to find such a refined and complete phone. And at this price point, you will not find anything better.

The phone in the CN 24/1000 version used for 3 days behaves as if it has no limits. In every respect. If you want or need to do something with it, you simply do it, without any hesitation. The global firmware does not show any incompatibilities. The CN version does not support eSIM - otherwise, there are no Chinese traces. Except for the bootloader, which "speaks" Chinese. Migration using the OnePlus cloner is poor - I do not recommend it. During the setup of the new phone, Google offers its assistance, and it is worth using it, because via cable it clones about 95% of the predecessor - the only thing it does not clone is the screen configuration, but that can be handled manually. Such a configuration for 3.6k PLN is probably not available from any other manufacturer. It looks like it will not become outdated compared to the rest for 3-4 years. 24GB of RAM can be "increased" with memory to a maximum of 36GB, which is an extraordinary amount - the loss of 12GB from the device's storage is not noticeable. Some people write that it is heavy, but a phone probably should not be too light, and compared to the OP 9 Pro, the weight increase is about 20g. It is worth getting the OnePlus Aramid Case, which is indestructible and lasts for years, resisting heavy impacts. The drawback is the curved screen, for which the purpose is unclear.

Hello! Tempted by such positive reviews and the fact that I would not find anything better at this price (2900 zł), I decided to replace my old phone with the 12. I can only confirm the positive opinions of previous reviewers regarding the display, haptics, and battery, but the camera was very important to me. And unfortunately, I was disappointed in the aspect most important to me. In most shots, this camera has problems with focus, at least in the case of my unit. Unfortunately, I cannot compare it to the Samsung S20FE that I had 4 years ago, but I have the impression that in some cases, that old phone performed better. I read forums in the English language and people there were not satisfied with this camera either. I did not expect exceptional results from the video, as most reviews mentioned poor stabilization, and that is unfortunately also the case in my unit. This is particularly visible in night shots. In general, I decided to keep it because comparable smartphones with a better camera start from 4.5 thousand and up.

Overall, the phone is very good. It takes excellent photos, the screen is beautiful, the haptics are very pleasant, and the 120 MHz refresh rate is sensational. The device operates very smoothly. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the battery. I do not know how it is possible that people achieve 8-9 hours of SOT; in mixed mode with location services turned off and without 5G, I manage to achieve about 5-6 hours when charged to 100% and used down to 20%. In the case of charging to 80%, it is even worse – the battery depletes very quickly, and even when not in use, the phone can lose 1-2% per hour. One positive feature is the fast charging. The phone also heats up quite quickly and significantly during gaming, but it is enough to put it aside for a few minutes and it is fine. In conclusion, I would probably not buy it a second time. I would prefer to wait for the Nord 5 with a larger battery and likely a similar price (I bought the OnePlus 12 for 3100 PLN in June 2025).
