We are lucky that Gionee Elife S5.5 smartphone has its debut not only in India, but also on the GSMchoice.com pages. If I am not mistaken, this is the world’s thinnest smartphone at this time.
Thanks to the courtesy of the manufacturer, we have received a smartphone, which official distribution will exclude Europe – at least for now. Shame, because just after opening the box I knew, that this is a remarkable device.
Both the box filled with many items and the device itself makes a good, first impression. The gold and white phone pleases the eye and our aesthetic sense and deserves only for superlatives due to its perfected screen (Gorilla Glass 3, full HD, 5 inches).

In the box you can also find a headset, a charger with data cable, two sets of protective foil for the front and the back of the phone, a key to open the SIM card drawer, an additional adapter for external memory and the phone’s documentation. The device is packed in an additional cover with a cut out area for the main camera, the microphone and the external speaker.

The screen dazzles, and despite my first worries, it fits the hand extremely firm and it does not have a tendency to slip out. The cover tough did not impress me, especially that it is not attached to the phone in any way and it has a tendency to fall out. I must however appreciate all the additional items – foils, cleaning cloths and the adapter.

The user’s interface is rather extraordinary. The touch buttons are placed under the touch screen: menu, home and back appear only when they are touched on the active screen. On the other hand, the lock screen after swiping to the left enables to use widgets for fast photo taking, dictaphone, torch and FakeCall option. Icons have original, elegant design. I have just started using the photo apps and got sucked in for long, because the phone makes – according to newest trends – astonishing make-up to my colleagues from the office. It extends the eyelashes with mascara, applies eye shadow and a lipstick in different colours. But I will talk about everything in the review. Make sure to read it in about three weeks.
