Another company that brought the smartphone releases at CES is Asus. The Taiwanese company unveiled the new Zenfone 2 and the photographic model Zenfone Zoom.
Zenfone 2 is a phablet with a 5.5-inch FullHD 403 ppi display and the Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz CPU. This is the first in the world (according to the manufacturer) smartphone with 4 GB of RAM. Zenfone 2 was moreover equipped with a 13-megapixel camera with f / 2.0 and a double, two-color LED flash. The front camera has a 5 megapixels and a battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh will charge up to 60% in less than 40 minutes. The built-in memory will hold 16 or 32 GB, the phone will also be on selected markets with lower half memory. Buyers will also choose between a single-SIM model and a dual-SIM. The weakest version (one SIM card, 16 GB ROM, 2GB RAM) is expected to cost less than $ 200. The phone will work under the supervision of Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI interface overlay.

The identical software will go to the second of the American launches of Asus. Zenfone Zoom - just like the model described above - has the Atom Z3580 and a 5.5-inch HD display and a 13-megapixel camera. The problem is that - as the name suggests – it has received decent Zenfone Zoom lens with 3x optical zoom, and the matrix itself is optically stabilized. The brightness of the lens is changed from f/2.7 to f/4.8. In addition to a good camera, Zenfone Zoom is basically the same as Zenfone 2. However, it will be much more expensive - approx. $ 400. It also has a slightly thicker casing - but we need to forgive it, because the whole mechanism of the varifocal lens was able to completely hide in the body of the device. There is no retractable elements susceptible to damage. There have also disappeared characteristic volume keys on the back, similar to those used by LG, which can be seen in Zenfone 2.
