Samsung Galaxy S8 with atypical resolution and aspect of the screen

There is a picture of the interface of Samsung Galaxy S8, revealing the resolution of its screen. Like in LG G6, it is quite unusual...

The photo shows the Galaxy S8 interface. There is a slider "regulator" that allows you to change the resolution of the projected image as needed. It's a good idea, because in some situations HD is enough for us, which does not force the graphics to work at full speed, and therefore does not drain the battery.

The visible slider allows you to switch between HD and QHD, while FullHD is the default setting. Actually - FullHD+. In the case of Samsung's new flagship, all resolutions are "plus", which is slightly larger than the standard aspect ratio. Larger - ie unusual. And yes, the highest possible resolution is 2960x1440 pixels, while the lower is 2220x1080 and 1480x720 pixels respectively. As you can see, the longer side of the screen is "stretched" here, just like in LG G6. In case of Galaxy S8 screen proportions can be estimated at 18.5: 9 - which is similar to the LG flagship. Is there a new fashion? Will smartphones begin to increase in length? We will see…

Meanwhile, let's look at another graphic, showing the colour versions of "eight". The picture of course comes from the reliable Evan Blass. The colours visible in the photo are called Black Sky, Orchid Gray and Arctic Silver.
