Nokia 800 Tough is a classic phone resistant to damage, water and carelessness with a KaiOS operating system and 4G network support. I admit that this is my favorite among Nokia novelties at IFA 2019.
So how much will Nokia 800 Tough withstand?
Nokia 800 Tough is really hard and has both MIL-STD-810G military certification, i.e. it passed the test for falls from nearly 2 meters on concrete and for survival in extreme temperatures, as well as the IP68 standard announcing to the whole world that dust and water are not scary. As a set the user will get two versions: classic black or in shabby camouflage in the colours of coffee with milk. The outer sockets have plugs, so you will need to remember to close them before they get wet. It's a shame, because we already have technologies that allow us to skip plugs and use sealed sockets. The icing on the cake is a LED flashlight with a brightness of 198 lumens and a handle integrated in the housing to attach the phone to the strap or backpack strap.
Not only tough but also communicative
Nokia 800 Tough is distinguished from very simple but strong phones with technical features. Qualcomm 205 with LTE modem significantly extends the communication possibilities of an innocent-looking phone. It not only receives data up to 150 Mb/s, but it is also a portable LTE modem and higher quality voice calls. Among the applications you can immediately find those that use the Internet connection: WhatsApp and Facebook. I quietly hope that they will be able to be uninstalled somehow, because they will not only spoil the optimization, but will give little use on the 2.4"display.

And since the display was mentioned ...
A simple 2. "screen works in QVGA resolution, i.e. 240x320 px. The processor is supported by 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of user memory can be expanded by 32 GB thanks to microSD cards. The camera has a 2 Mpx matrix, and therefore without sensation. Sensational is, for such a system, a battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh. It may also be worth mentioning about navigation including GPS, AGPS and GLONASS, BT 4.1, nano-SIM card support and address book for 1000 contacts. If someone does not feel like clicking keys when dialing conversations, or using messages, one can always invoke the pre-installed Google Assistant.
Nokia 800 Tough
Nokia 800 Tough seems to be a perfect device for autumn trips to the mountains or to the forest. It should withstand a lot, as long as the user watches over closing caps. Its modem should ensure efficient and fast communication with data exchange, as long as we are only within range of our network. The flashlight will help not only find yourself in the wilderness, but also find the keys in the dark staircase. And the battery ... working times look very promising, although with intensive data exchange they can go rapidly down.
