After numerous rumours and leaks, Google Pixel 5A 5G has become a fact. Compared to its predecessor, it introduces many improvements, incl. IP67 waterproof and larger battery. Where will it be possible to buy it and at what price?
Google officially introduced the Pixel 5A 5G smartphone. It is a direct successor to the well-received Google Pixel 4A 5G model, which introduces a lot of improvements. It has a slightly larger screen, a more capacious battery and an IP67 waterproof rating. And the best part is, it will be selling for $ 50 below the starting price of Pixel 4A 5G. Google Pixel 5A 5G costs $ 449 and will be available for sale in the US and Japan from August 26.
What exactly does the new smartphone from Google offer? Pixel 5A has a 6.34-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, supported by 6 GB of RAM. 128 GB of internal memory is allocated for data and applications. The rear panel has a dual camera, which consists of a main camera with a resolution of 12.2 MP and a 16 MP camera with an ultra-wide angle lens. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back panel to unlock the phone. An 8 MP camera was intended for selves, placed in a hole in the upper left corner of the screen.
Pixel 5A 5G runs on Android 11 and is guaranteed for three years of operating system updates and security patches. The whole is powered by a 4680 mAh battery, which - according to Google - can last up to a full day of typical use. If extreme battery saver mode is on, it can run for up to two days on a single charge. Pixel 5A only supports wired charging and comes with an 18W charger in the box. Moreover, it will be the last phone in the Pixel family to come with a charger in the box. So Google has adopted the same strategy for google and Samsung and several other manufacturers... Which at the same time confirms that smartphones from the Pixel 6 series will be devoid of this accessory.
Pixel 5A 5G costs $ 449 and will only be available for sale in the US and Japan from August 26. The phone will be offered in one colour version - black, but you can optionally buy a coloured case.
