Today, OPPO announced the global distribution of new AI-enhanced OPPO Reno12 and OPPO Reno12 Pro smartphones. We had previously seen these models in China, but they reached us with slightly modified specifications.
OPPO Reno 12 series debuts with a new styling. The smartphones have metal frames, Gorilla Glass, and slightly curved screens on all four sides, which gives them an attractive appearance. OPPO Reno12 and OPPO Reno12 Pro displays can be operated with a wet hand, and the smartphones also have an IP65 tightness class. OPPO Reno12 and OPPO Reno12 Pro are equipped with 5000 mAh batteries, charging with a power of 80 W. The new models have similar displays - 6.7-inch AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, as well as LPDDR5X memory. and UFS 3.1. Additionally, they also have under-screen fingerprint readers, NFC, microSD slots and infrared transmitters.
So many similarities. And what are the differences? OPPO Reno 12 has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor (the Chinese version has Dimensity 8250), Gorilla Glass 7i screen glass, as well as a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the back there is also a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture and optical stabilization and an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 112-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. Next to it there is a 2-megapixel macro camera.
OPPO Reno 12 also has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor (In China: Dimensity 9200+), but additionally Gorilla Glass Victus2 and stereo speakers. It also has a better 50-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, and in place of the macro camera - it has a 50-megapixel, 2x portrait telephoto camera with f/2.0 aperture and 20x hybrid zoom. The smartphones work under the control of the Android 14 operating system with Color OS 14.1 overlay, with the promise of three system version updates and 4 years of security support. Of course, the system has been enriched with AI functions, i.e. Artificial Intelligence. You can read more about AI in OPPO Reno12 in a separate article. The Oppo Reno12 costs €500 (12/256GB) and the Oppo Reno12 Pro is €600 (12/512GB).
