The just-presented Honor Play 9T 5G stands out from the crowd of budget and mid-range smartphones. Do its parameters also compare well with the Honor Play 8T?
Honor Play 8T Pro, shown this summer, was very different in appearance from the Honor Play 8T, and the latest Honor Play 9T 5G experiments once again with a new style. This time, the two rear cameras are placed on a square island, and they are accompanied by new color options, among which the green variant is particularly eye-catching. Despite the significantly different appearance, the camera parameters are the same as in its predecessor - the main one has 50 Mpx, and it is accompanied by a 2 Mpx depth sensor. The selfie camera in the hole at the front is even a bit more modest than in the case of Honor Play 8T - its resolution is 5 Mpx.

The 6.77-inch IPS TFT display with 120 Hz refresh is also more modest, with a resolution this time of only 720 x 1612 px, or HD+. The processor is a bit better, this time played by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, and there is also a new operating system, Android 14 with the MagicOS 8.0 interface. Apart from that, the Honor Play 9T 5G has a lot in common with last year's model - the most expensive variant offers 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, and its 6000 mAh battery can be charged at 35 W. There is also full dust and partial IP64 waterproofing, as well as a 3.5 mm minijack socket.
Honor Play 9T measures 166.9 x 76.8, and its thickness and weight depend on the variant. The black variant is 8.09mm thick and weighs 197g, while the white and green versions are slightly thicker and heavier, at 8.24mm and 199g. The smartphone is currently available in China in the following memory configurations:
