Honor X60 and Honor X60 Pro debut and surprise

Two new Honor smartphones debuted in China today, Honor X60 and Honor X60 Pro. Both models surprise a bit with their equipment - but is it positive?

Honor X60 and Honor X60 Pro will delight users with quite capacious batteries and decent displays, but unfortunately photography enthusiasts may be disappointed with the modesty of the cameras. But first things first:

Honor X60

Honor X60 has a flat 6.8-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and up to 850 nits of brightness. At the top of the screen is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. At the back, in turn, there is a surprisingly lonely 108-megapixel main camera, with a 1/1.67" matrix and f/1.75 aperture. The rest of the large camera frame is occupied by an LED diode and caps. Strange... As a consolation, this model has a fairly large battery, with a capacity of 5800 mAh and 35-watt charging. The heart of the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra processor, running Android 14 with the MagicOS 8.0 overlay. There are three housing colours to choose from and four memory variants: 8+128, 8+256 and 12+256 and 12+512 GB. They cost 1199, 1399 and 1599 and 1799 yuan, respectively. This gives 169, 199, 225, 255 dollars.

Honor X60 Pro

Honor X60 Pro is a slightly more interesting model. It has a curved, 6.78-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 3000 nits. The screen works at a resolution of 1224 x 2700 pixels, with a 10-bit color palette and 3840 Hz PWM dimming, and the touch panel can be operated with a wet hand. The screen has a wide cutout for an 8-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0) and an additional depth sensor, probably helpful in facial recognition and portraits. Under the screen, there is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, and power is provided by an even larger battery than the base - 6600 mAh with 66-watt charging. The rear camera is the same as the base model, but the Pro makes up for it with stereo speakers and text satellite connectivity, as well as an under-screen fingerprint reader. The base X60 has a regular, side-mounted one. This model comes in four color variants, as well as four memory options: 8+128, 8+256, 12+256 and 12+512 GB. Their prices are 1499, 1699, 1999 and 2299 yuan, respectively. After converting, that's 210, 239, 280 and 325 dollars.
