The cheapest of the four models, the Huawei Mate 70, has more modest parameters than the others, but stands out positively with its size - its thickness is only 7.8 mm. The diagonal of its 6.7-inch flat screen is also slightly smaller, while the other models have a rounded 6.9-inch display. In all models, it is an OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh. The screen of the base, Pro and Pro+ models offers 2500 nits of brightness and is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass, while the Huawei Mate 70 RS stands out with 3500 nits of brightness and more durable tempered basalt glass. It is additionally durable thanks to a titanium alloy frame, and the entire Huawei Mate 70 series offers IP69 dust and water resistance, which means resistance even to pressurized water.

Individual models of the flagship series also differ in their interiors, although Huawei, as usual, does not reveal the processor - its role is probably played by the Kirin 9100. It is known that the Huawei Mate 70 and Huawei Mate 70 Pro offer 12 GB of RAM, and in the case of the Mate 70 Pro+ and Mate 70 RS it is 16 GB of RAM, with all models available in 512 GB and 1 TB of internal memory. All of them also have the HarmonyOS 4.3 operating system, and there is also satellite communication via Beidou.

A significant difference between the individual models is also the battery and its charging power. The basic Huawei Mate 70 battery has a capacity of 5300 mAh and can be charged at 66 W or wirelessly at 50 W, while the more expensive models offer 100 W wired charging and 80 W inductive charging. The Huawei Mate 70 Pro has a 5500 mAh battery, and in the case of the Huawei Mate 70 Pro and Huawei Mate 70 RS, its capacity is 5700 mAh.

Huawei's flagships could not lack a powerful set of cameras. All four models are equipped with a 50 Mpx main camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0, a 40 Mpx wide-angle camera, a periscopic telephoto lens, and a 13 Mpx selfie camera. The base model has a 12 Mpx telephoto lens with 5.5x optical zoom, while the Huawei Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS have a 48 Mpx periscopic telephoto lens with 4x zoom. More expensive models, in addition to the selfie camera, also have a three-dimensional sensor on the front that allows you to safely unlock your phone with your face.

Those who prefer fingerprint security can use the fingerprint reader integrated with the side power button, which also offers quick access to selected functions by holding or double-clicking - this way you can switch the flash, mute the phone or launch the AI assistant.

The typical set of three rear cameras in the Huawei Mate 70 series is expanded by a special color spectrum imaging sensor, covering 1.5 million multispectral channels and supporting color reproduction in the other cameras.

The Huawei Mate 70 and Huawei Mate 70 will go on sale in China on December 4, in four color versions - white Spruce Green, black Obsidian Black, purple Hyacinth Purple and green Spruce Green. The Huwaei Mate 70 Pro+ and Huwaei Mate 70 RS will be available in stores on December 19, the Pro Plus model in five color variants (black, white, gold, silver and blue) and the RS model in the series' characteristic black and red. The four new models are now available for pre-order at the following prices:

  • Huawei Mate 70, 256GB - 5499 yuan ($760, €720)
  • Huawei Mate 70, 512GB - 5999 yuan ($830, €785)
  • Huawei Mate 70, 1TB - 6999 yuan ($970, €920)
  • Huawei Mate 70 Pro, 512GB - 6999 yuan ($970, €920)
  • Huawei Mate 70 Pro, 1TB - 7999 yuan ($1105, 1050 €)
  • Huawei Mate 70 Pro+, 512GB - 8499 yuan (1175$, 1115€)
  • Huawei Mate 70 Pro+, 1TB - 9499 yuan (1310$, 1250€)
  • Huawei Mate 70 RS, 512GB - 11999 yuan (1660$, 1575€)
  • Huawei Mate 70 RS, 1TB - 12999 yuan (1800$, 1705€)

Huawei Mate X6 - the new thinnest foldable!

For several months, the Honor Magic V3 could enjoy the title of the thinnest foldable smartphone, but the new Huawei Mate X6 has just taken that record from it - its thickness when unfolded is only 4.3 mm, and its weight is 239 grams.

The foldable Huawei Mate X6 has a lot in common with the classic Huawei Mate flagships - it also features a hyperspectral sensor, which improves color reproduction in other cameras using the XD Fusion engine. The main 50 Mpx camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0 is the same as in Huawei Pura 70 Pro+, while the 40 Mpx ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus previously appeared in the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. The set is completed by a 48 Mpx telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and a focal length equivalent to 90 mm.

The Huawei Mate X6's foldable screen is a 7.93-inch LTPO panel with a resolution of 2440x2240 px, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 1800 nits. On the outside, there is another 120 Hz OLED LTPO screen with a diagonal of 6.45 inches, FHD resolution and 2500 nits of brightness.

As in the case of the Huawei Mate 70 series, the processor model of the Huawei Mate X6 is not officially known, but it is likely to be the Kirin 9100 - a processor made in the 6 nm process, which is inferior to the latest models from Qualcomm and Mediatek. The battery, however, is not in doubt, with a capacity of 5110 mAh in the model with 12 GB RAM or 5200 mAh in the 16 GB variants. It can be charged wired at 66W or inductively at 50W, and there is also an option for reverse wireless charging at 7.5W. The Huawei Mate X6 will be one of the first devices to use the HarmonyOS Next operating system, which is completely separate from Android.

The Huawei Mate X6 is already available in the manufacturer's Chinese store, in five color variants and four memory options at the following prices:

  • 12 GB + 256 GB - 12,999 yuan ($1,800, €1,705)
  • 12 GB + 512 GB - 13,999 yuan ($1,930, €1,840)
  • 16 GB + 512 GB - 14,999 yuan ($2,070, €1,970)
  • 16GB + 1TB - 15,999 yuan ($2,210, €2,100)
