Motorola has officially unveiled the Motorola Edge 70 Max smartphone. The device is designed with gamers in mind, among other things, offering a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, fast memory, an effective cooling system, and a minimalist design.

Motorola Edge 70 Max is priced in the mid-range segment, but offers performance similar to flagships. It features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, one of the top mobile chipsets with an Adreno 840 GPU and two cores clocked at 3.8 GHz. It also boasts a fast 256 GB internal storage using the UFS 4.1 standard, supported by 8 GB of LPDDR5x RAM. A new feature in this model is a liquid metal cooling system with a 5500 mm² vapor chamber, ensuring the processor can operate under maximum load without performance degradation caused by overheating (throttling). The Motorola Edge 70 Max also features a 6.82-inch Extreme AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution (1440x3168 pixels), refresh rate up to 144 Hz, and peak brightness of 7000 nits. The screen supports 10-bit colour depth and is Pantone Validated.

The smartphone's silicon-carbon battery has a capacity of 7100 mAh and supports TurboPower charging at 90W (wired) and 25W (wireless). The Edge 70 Max's gaming credentials are further emphasized by the materials used in its construction: glass and aircraft-grade aluminum. The Edge 70 Max will not feature the distinctive back panels, typically inspired by delicate fabrics, found in other Edge 70 series models. However, the Pantone colors have been retained. The Edge 70 Max will be available in three shades: Pantone Dark Shadow, Pantone Ice Melt, and Pantone Aqua Grey. The smartphone offers IP68/IP69 protection (water and dust resistance) and MIL-STD-810H certification (reinforced construction and resistance to harsh environmental conditions). The housing houses two microphones and two stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio.

The main camera module features the same 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with optical image stabilization and an f/1.8 aperture as the Edge 70 Pro. The smartphone also records 4K video. The setup is complemented by an 8MP wide-angle camera (f/2.2, 119 degrees). However, there's no telephoto lens, which distinguishes the Pro model. The front camera is based on a 32MP sensor (f/2.2). The smartphone debuts with Android 16 and will receive three subsequent versions of the operating system (Android 17, 18, and 19) as part of updates. Security updates (SMR) will be provided for five years. Pricing starts at $570 for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the 12GB/256GB model is priced at $625.
